The Invitation
One chilly Halloween evening, in a cozy little forest, lived a fuzzy bear named Benny. Benny was a sweet bear with big brown eyes and a soft, cuddly tummy. But Benny didn't like Halloween. Halloween was too spooky, too noisy, and too full of things that went "Boo!"
"Come on, Benny," said his friend, Lila the squirrel, her tail flicking with excitement. "Let's go trick-or-treating!"
Benny shook his head. "No, thank you, Lila. I don't like ghosts and goblins."
"But Benny," chirped Max the rabbit, his big ears twitching, "there's candy! And fun costumes!"
Benny rubbed his tummy, thinking about the candy. "I do like candy..." he mumbled.
The Spooky Street
So, off they went, Benny the bear, Lila the squirrel, and Max the rabbit, hopping and skipping down the path. The moon was bright and the stars twinkled like tiny lanterns in the sky.
The forest houses were all dressed up. Some had pumpkins grinning wide, some had ghostly sheets waving in the breeze, and some had big, fluffy spider webs. Benny held onto Lila's paw very tight.
"Look, Benny," said Lila, pointing at a house with twinkling orange lights. "It looks fun, not scary!"
Benny took a deep breath. "Okay, let's try that one."
When they reached the door, Max rang the bell. Ding dong! The door creaked open and there stood a friendly hedgehog, wearing a witch's hat.
"Trick or treat!" they all shouted together.
"Hello, little ones!" said the hedgehog with a smile. "Here's some candy for you."
Benny smiled. "Thank you!" he said, feeling a little braver.
The Friendly Surprise
As they walked to the next house, Benny started to giggle. "This isn't so scary!" he said.
They skipped from house to house, collecting candies and treats. Each door opened to someone with a big smile and a bucket full of goodies.
Soon, Benny forgot about being scared. He was having so much fun with his friends! They laughed and shared their candies. Benny even dressed up with a silly hat Lila found.
"See, Benny?" said Max. "Halloween can be fun!"
Benny nodded happily. "Yes, it's not spooky at all. It's magic!"
As the night went on, the friends finished their trick-or-treating. They sat under the big oak tree, looking at the moon.
"Thank you, Lila and Max," said Benny, hugging his friends tight. "You made Halloween special."
Lila squeaked with joy. "Anytime, Benny!"
Max nibbled on a candy. "Now, let's eat some treats!"
And as Benny nibbled on a sweet, he felt happy and safe. Halloween wasn't scary anymore. It was full of fun, friends, and candy!
From then on, Benny couldn't wait for Halloween every year, where he could dress up, laugh, and gather candies with his best friends in the whole forest.
