In the soft, twinkly light of Halloween night, a little dragon named Mallow peeked out from behind a pumpkin. Mallow was not a big, scary dragon. He was small and round, with glittery green scales and a tiny nose that sniffed the sweet air. He wore a shiny, silver cape for his costume and giggled every time it fluttered.
Mallow had a very important mission. He held a golden star in his paw. It was not a real star from the sky, but it sparkled just as bright. “Tonight, I need to stick this star right on top of the biggest pumpkin in the patch!” he whispered to himself. Every Halloween, the magical star made the pumpkins twinkle, and all the friends would gather to share pumpkin treats.
Mallow tiptoed past the wobbly spiderwebs and smiled at the sleepy bats. “Happy Halloween!” he whispered. The bats waved their tiny wings. A friendly ghost floated by and waved a silvery scarf. “Ooooo, good luck, Mallow!” said the ghost, giggling softly.
Suddenly, Mallow stopped. The biggest pumpkin was across a pile of crunchy leaves. Mallow's cape got stuck on a prickly twig. “Oh no!” he squeaked. But a chubby hedgehog in a wizard hat scurried over. “I can help!” said the hedgehog. Together, they tugged gently, and the cape popped free. “Thank you!” said Mallow. “Let's go together!” said the hedgehog.
They walked through the leaf pile. Rustle, rustle, crunch! The leaves tickled their toes. Mallow laughed and so did the hedgehog. At the big pumpkin, a group of tiny mice, all dressed as little witches, were waiting. “We want to see the star!” squeaked the mice.
Mallow climbed on the hedgehog's back. He reached up high with his golden star. The pumpkin was tall, but the friends worked together. The mice stood in a line to help balance Mallow. “Steady… steady…” said the hedgehog. With a gentle press, Mallow stuck the star on top. It glowed with a soft, golden light.
All around, the pumpkins started to twinkle. The bats, the ghost, the hedgehog, and the mice cheered. “Hooray for the star!” they sang.
Everyone sat in a happy circle, sharing pumpkin cookies and stories. Mallow felt warm and proud. The star sparkled, the friends giggled, and the Halloween night was cozy and bright.
