Lily was a little girl. She was 18 months old. One sunny day, Lily played in the park. She loved the swings.
"Swing high, swing low!" Lily said, giggling.
Suddenly, she saw a little boy. His name was Ben. He sat on the grass. He looked sad.
Lily said, "Hi, Ben! Why are you sad?"
Ben answered, "I want to play, but I have no one to play with."
Lily smiled. "You can play with me!"
Ben's face lit up. "Really? That would be fun!"
They ran to the swings together.
"Your turn!" said Lily, pushing Ben gently.
"Whee! This is great!" Ben laughed.
Then it was Lily's turn. Ben pushed her.
"Swing high!" Lily cheered.
After swinging, they saw the sandpit.
"Let's build a castle!" Ben exclaimed.
"Yes! A big castle!" Lily clapped her hands.
They scooped sand and built a tall castle.
When they finished, Ben said, "Our castle is beautiful!"
Lily nodded. "Best friends make the best castles!"
Ben smiled. "I like being your friend."
Lily beamed. "Me too!"
The sun began to set.
"Goodbye, Ben!" Lily waved.
"Goodbye, Lily!" Ben waved back.
They both felt happy. Friendship is fun!
