Little Tom sits on a soft blue cloud, looking at his tiny toes. “Bloop bloop,” he says, wiggling them. The sky is big and calm. A sweet breeze goes “whooo” and makes Tom giggle.
Tom sees a shiny butterfly. “Hello!” says Tom. The butterfly flaps its wings, “flap-flap,” and sits next to Tom. “Where do you go?” Tom asks. The butterfly dances in the air. “Everywhere!” it says.
Tom claps. “Me too?” he asks. The butterfly nods. “Hop!” Tom jumps, and the cloud feels bouncy. He sees a bird flying. “Tweet tweet!” sings the bird. Tom smiles. “Why do you fly?” he asks. The bird says, “I look for sun and friends.”
Tom looks at the cloud, the sky, the butterfly, and the bird. “What do I do?” he wonders out loud. The butterfly whispers, “You smile.” Tom grins. His smile is like sunshine.
Now Tom feels warm and safe. He hugs the cloud. “Thank you,” he says.
At the end of each day, a little smile is the best thing you can share.
