A small round alarm clock as the main character, made of shiny brass with a smiling face painted on the dial, a long golden minute hand and a short silver hour hand, plump and warm with a content, proud expression, ticking and swaying slightly as if humming; a bedside lamp as secondary character, white porcelain body with a yellow shade, half-closed eyes and a tender smile, casting warm light just behind the clock; two small slightly wobbly wooden chairs with red cushions as secondary characters, sleepy eyes and calm postures placed left and right in the background; a tiny shiny spider with a round black body, eight thin legs and a silver silk thread swinging joyfully above the clock and gently touching its top; a square window letting in golden sunbeams, light polka-dot curtains stirring and a blurred garden beyond; warm wooden plank floor, a soft rug under the clock and a few simple toys scattered; the scene shows a calm, gentle moment with the clock ticking at the center while the others listen peacefully, warm palette of yellows, golds and soft reds, rounded shapes and a centered, reassuring composition. report a problem with this image

Tick-tock, tick-tock. In the quiet room, there lived a little round Clock. The Clock had a big golden hand and a tiny silver hand. Every morning, the Clock woke up with a soft “ding-ding!” and smiled at the sleepy chairs and the gentle lamp.

One day, the Clock asked, “Why do I go tick-tock?” The lamp blinked softly, “I shine bright. You tick-tock. Maybe that is just you.” The Clock thought, “Hmm, is that all?” The chairs only whispered, “Squeak, squeak. We like your sound.”

The Clock watched the sun dance in the window. “Hello, Sun!” The Clock called. Sunbeams giggled, “Hee-hee! I shine and play. You tick-tock and play too.” The Clock giggled too, “Tickle-tock!” The room felt warm and happy.

Then, a tiny Spider swung down, “Wheee!” She landed on the Clock's top. “Do you know why you tick-tock?” the Clock asked. The Spider wiggled, “I spin, you tick. I do my best. You do your best too!” The Clock liked this. “Yes, I tick-tock. That is me!” “Ding-ding!” said the Clock, feeling proud.

The day went on. The Clock ticked. The lamp glowed. The chairs squeaked. The Spider spun her tiny web, “Swish!” Everyone did what they could, in their own way. The little Clock felt calm and cozy, tick-tocking with joy, “Tick-tock, tick-tock, all is well.”

At bedtime, the Clock whispered, “Goodnight, friends.” The lamp blinked, “Goodnight.” The chairs creaked, “Goodnight.” The Spider swung up high, “Goodnight!” The Clock closed its eyes, “Tick-tock, tick-tock, shhh...”

Sometimes, the best thing to do is just be yourself, tick-tocking your happy song.
