Part One
Once upon a giggle, a little wizard lived in a small blue house. He wore a soft hat. He had a wand that tickled when he waved it. He loved to try new spells. He loved to ask, "What happens if...?"
One sunny morning, he had toast with jam. A tiny crumb fell on the table. "Oh!" said the wizard. He felt curious. He tapped his wand. He whispered, "Abracuddle!" The crumb blinked. Then it was gone.
"Hmm," said the wizard. He looked under the cup. He looked behind the jar. He looked in his shoe. The crumb was not there. He rubbed his chin. He asked, "Where did the crumb go?"
He decided to find it. He put on his little coat. He picked up his map that had stars and pancakes drawn on it. He packed his hat and his smile. He went outside to ask gentle things.
Part Two
First, he met a giggling grasshopper. "Have you seen a crumb?" asked the wizard. The grasshopper shook its head and laughed. "No crumb, only a hop! Hop, hop!" They hopped together. They looked on a leaf. No crumb.
Next, they met a sleepy squirrel. "Have you seen a crumb?" asked the wizard. The squirrel twitched its nose. "Only acorns and nuts," said the squirrel. "No crumb, but have a nut!" The wizard said, "Thank you," and smiled. They checked the tree. No crumb.
Then a little cloud floated down. "Have you seen a crumb?" the wizard asked. The cloud puffed and giggled. "I can hide rain, but not crumbs," said the cloud. The cloud sneezed soft sparkles. They looked on the rainbow. Still no crumb.
All day they followed tiny clues. A sparkle here. A jam drop there. The wizard asked, "What happens if we look behind the moon?" The friends laughed. The moon was far. They could not find the crumb. The wizard felt puzzled. He did not feel sad. He felt curious and brave.
Finally, they arrived at the wizard's blue house. The table was waiting. The little chair was waiting. The wand hummed. The wizard sat down. He smiled and waved his wand very gently. He whispered, "Abracuddle, come back!"
Pop! The crumb hopped out from the napkin like a tiny bunny. It sat on the table and blinked.
"Hello, crumb," laughed the wizard. "Hello," chirped the crumb (in a tiny crumb voice).
They all giggled. The grasshopper jumped. The squirrel clapped. The cloud danced. Curiosity had made a small adventure. It was funny, gentle, and kind.
The wizard put the crumb on his toast. He took a small bite. He shared a little jam with his friends. He said, "I will always ask, 'What happens if...?' and I will always come home."
They finished with a soft song. The house was warm. The hat was sleepy. The wand tucked in a cup. The wizard yawned. He dreamed of new small questions. The end.
