Chapter One

Mia is three. Mia is a small apprentice witch. She wears a bright blue hat. The hat is a little too big. It falls over her eyes. She giggles. She loves to mix and stir.

Mia lives in a cozy cottage. The cottage has round windows and a tiny garden. The garden is full of tickly grass. It has squishy mushrooms that glow faintly. It has one friendly cat named Puff. Puff is fluffy. Puff purrs like a tiny drum.

One sunny morning, Mia finds a shiny whistle on a shelf. The whistle sparkles. It looks like a tiny moon. A note is tied to it. The note says, "For curious hearts." Mia's eyes grow big. Her fingers wiggle. She loves to be curious.

Mia holds the whistle. She tries a small puff. "Peep," she says. The sound is soft. The whistle glows a little. Puff blinks. The garden listens.

Mia decides to learn the whistle. She makes a little plan. "I will learn a luminous whistle," she tells Puff. Puff meows. Mia smiles.

Chapter Two

Mia opens her recipe book. It is full of silly spells and safe snacks. The recipes are short. They say things like: Stir twice. Hum a tune. Share with a friend.

First recipe: Glow Tea. Mia gathers lemon drops, a tiny curl of moonbeam, and a leaf from a giggle tree. She stirs. She sings, "Bouncy, bright, not too tight." The tea bubbles and glows soft yellow. Mia sips. Her cheeks feel warm. The whistle glows more.

"Try it," says Puff. Puff taps the whistle with a paw. It makes a gentle twinkle. "Peep-peep," says Mia. The whistle sings like a small bell.

Next recipe: Flutter Cookies. Mia mixes flour, a pinch of cloud sugar, and a giggle of peppermint. She pats cookies into little star shapes. The cookies wobble like jelly. They smell happy. She gives one to Puff. Puff nibbles. Puff does a tiny spin. "More," says Puff.

Mia practices the whistle every time she eats a recipe. She hums. She puffs. She giggles. The whistle learns with her. The whistle glows brighter when Mia is happy. It glows blue for calm. It glows pink for giggles. It glows gold for brave sips and brave tries.

One day, Mia blows a long, curious note. The whistle whistles and whoosh! Tiny sparks float out like fireflies. They are soft and kind. They land on the mushrooms. The mushrooms dance. The mushrooms wiggle. Mia claps. "Hooray!" she says.

Sometimes the whistle surprises her. It burps a tiny bubble. It tickles her nose. Mia laughs. She learns that magic can be silly. She learns to giggle when things wobble. She learns to try again when a sound is tricky.

Mia makes a new recipe: Calm Cloud Pudding. It says: breathe in, breathe out, whistle once, then share. Mia breathes in. She breathes out. She blows the whistle. This time the sound is bright and steady. The whistle glows like a little sun.

Puff curls on Mia's lap. The cottage smells like cookies and tea. The mushrooms glow a gentle blue. The tiny sparks tuck themselves into a jar to nap.

Mia smiles at the whistle. She feels curious and safe. She knows she can try new sounds. She knows she can make magic with kind hands and a happy heart.

"Tomorrow," she says, "I will learn another tune." Puff purrs. The whistle hums a tiny lullaby. The night is soft. The moon watches. All is calm and bright.
