Part 1
Little Wolf woke up with a big idea and a small tummy rumble.
“Picnic!” he said. “A giggly picnic!”
He packed a red blanket, three apples, and one very bouncy loaf of bread. The loaf kept hopping out of the basket. Boing. Boing. Boing.
“Hey!” Little Wolf laughed. “Stay in, silly bread!”
He went to find his friends. Bunny was brushing her ears. Turtle was polishing his shell. Bird was tapping her toes.
“I need help,” said Little Wolf. “My picnic food is extra wiggly.”
Bunny peeked in the basket. “Why is your bread jumping?”
Turtle nodded slowly. “Maybe it wants fresh air.”
Bird chirped, “Maybe it wants to dance!”
Little Wolf blinked. “Or… maybe I packed the bouncy bread by mistake.”
They all giggled. “We can help!” said Bunny. “We can help!” said Turtle. “We can help!” sang Bird.
Part 2
On the way to the meadow, the basket went thump-thump. Then—POP!—the loaf jumped out and rolled downhill like a happy wheel.
“Bread on the run!” cried Bird.
Little Wolf called, “Friends, help, please!”
Bunny zoomed after it. “I will catch it with my paws!”
Turtle called, “I will be the safe stop!”
Bird swooped low. “I will point the way!”
But Bunny grabbed… a round rock. “Got it!”
“Bunny,” said Little Wolf, “that is not bread.”
Bunny giggled. “Oopsie!”
Turtle stopped… a pine cone. “I stopped it!”
“Turtle,” said Little Wolf, “that is not bread.”
Turtle smiled. “Oopsie, too.”
Bird landed on… a fluffy dandelion. “Found it!”
“Bird,” said Little Wolf, “that is not bread.”
Bird puffed the dandelion. “Oopsie-peepsie!”
Then the real loaf boinged right into a little puddle. Splash!
Little Wolf looked worried for one tiny second. Then he said, “Can you help me again?”
“Of course,” said Bunny, gentle and sure.
They used big leaves like plates. Turtle held the loaf so it would not hop away. Bird fanned it dry. Bunny patted it softly. Pat-pat. Pat-pat.
The loaf behaved.
Part 3
At the meadow, they spread the red blanket. The apples sat still. The bread sat still. Everyone stared.
“Is it… still bouncy?” whispered Little Wolf.
The loaf made one tiny boing. Just one.
They all burst into happy laughter. Not mean laughter. Friend laughter.
Little Wolf shared apples. Bunny shared crunchy carrots. Turtle shared berry cookies. Bird shared a silly song.
Little Wolf sighed, warm and calm. “I like asking for help.”
Bunny said, “We like helping.”
Turtle said, “Together is easy.”
Bird sang softly, “Together is cozy.”
The sun felt gentle. The friends munched slowly. The giggles became quiet little chuckles, and the meadow felt safe, sweet, and sleepy.
