“Let's play a game!” said Rosie, her eyes sparkling. She sat on the living room carpet with her twin brother, Max, and their little brother, Timmy.

Max grinned. “What game, Rosie?”

Rosie lifted her chin. “Let's see who can go the longest… without laughing!”

Timmy clapped his hands. “No laughing? That's easy for me! I'm super serious, see?” He puffed out his cheeks and crossed his arms.

Max nodded. “I'm not laughing either. I'm a stone! A rock! No giggles here.”

Rosie tried to look very, very serious. “Okay, everybody ready?”

Max and Timmy nodded, their faces extra serious.

“Go!” Rosie said.

They all sat very still. No one moved. No one giggled.

Timmy's nose wriggled. “My nose is tickly,” he whispered.

Max squinted. “Don't laugh, Timmy! Or you'll lose!”

Timmy covered his mouth. “Mmm mmm mmm!” he hummed, trying not to laugh.

Rosie wiggled her eyebrows up and down. Max peeked at her and had to bite his lip.

Timmy pointed at Rosie. “Rosie's eyebrows are funny!”

Rosie said, “No giggling, Timmy!”

But Timmy's shoulders started to shake.

Max said, “I'm still not laughing!”

Chapter 2: Silly Faces and Giggles

Rosie made a fishy face. “Blub blub!” she said.

Timmy giggled. “Fishy Rosie! Fishy Rosie!”

Max covered his eyes. “I can't look! I will laugh!”

Rosie turned to Max. “Can't laugh! Remember, Max!”

Max peeked. Rosie puffed her cheeks like a big pufferfish.

Max's lips wobbled. “Stop! Too silly!” he cried.

Timmy tried to make a fish face too, but his tongue stuck out instead. “Blahhh!” he said.

Rosie and Max looked at Timmy. He looked so silly, with his tongue out and his eyes crossed.

Max burst out laughing. “You look like a silly frog, Timmy!”

Rosie laughed too. “Timmy the frog! Timmy the frog!”

Timmy giggled and jumped. “Ribbit! Ribbit! I'm a frog!”

All three children rolled on the floor, laughing and snorting and giggling.

Rosie wiped her eyes. “No one can win this game with you two! Too funny!”

Max nodded. “We're all too silly!”

Timmy said, “Let's play again! But this time, we can laugh as much as we want!”

They all cheered, hugging each other, happy and giggly and together.
