A 2-year-old girl named Mia, with bright big eyes and a radiant smile, is sitting in a cardboard box that looks like a boat. She wears a soft, colorful hat and holds a silver spoon like a paddle, with an expression of joy and adventure on her face. Next to her is her teddy bear, a brown stuffed animal with a red bow around its neck, her faithful travel companion, sitting beside her in admiration. A gray cat with green eyes, her friend, is lying on the edge of the boat, paws stretched out as if floating in the clouds. The scene takes place in a bright, colorful children's room, with a fluffy rug resembling blue sea, island-shaped cushions, and scattered toys. Sunbeams filter through the window, filling the room with a warm golden light. Enthusiastic, Mia navigates her cardboard boat, laughing and imagining herself at sea, ready for a great adventure with her friends. report a problem with this image

Mia is two. She has big eyes. She has a soft hat. She likes to play.

One day Mia finds a box. The box is in the room. She smiles. The box is a ship. Mia climbs in. She holds a spoon like a oar. The spoon is shiny. The floor is a sea. Her teddy is crew. Her cat is a cloud.

"All aboard," Mia said. Her voice is small and brave. The ship bumps on the rug wave. Mia laughs. She steers past a pillow island. A sock fish waves. Mia gives the fish a wink.

The ship gets stuck by a tall chair cave. Mia thinks. She pats her head. She uses a rope — a scarf. She pulls the ship free. Teddy cheers. The cat purrs. Mia feels proud.

They sail to the kitchen shore. There is a big lake of light. Mia sees a small bowl boat near the sink. The bowl cries for a spoon. Mia gives the bowl a spoon. The spoon is happy to help. The bowl sails with a cheer.

Mia spots a toy on the floor. It is small and sad. Mia picks it up. She cleans it with a cloth. The toy smiles. Mia sings a soft song. The house joins in. The lamp blinks like a star. The clock ticks like a drum. The day feels warm.

It is time to rest. Mia builds a tent with a blanket. She tucks Teddy in. She tucks the toy in. The cat hops in too. Mia whispers, "Good night." Her room shines with a tiny light. Mia breathes out. She feels safe and big.

Mia learned that small hands can do big things. She learned to help and to smile.

Kind hands make small hearts brave.
