Chapter 1: The Carnival Begins
Today was a very special day. It was Carnival Day! The park was full of colors, music, and laughter. Balloons floated in the sky, and streamers danced in the wind. Three best friends, Mia, Zoe, and Lily, came to the park together. They wore bright hats, sparkling ribbons, and big smiles.
“Look at all the colors!” said Mia, twirling around.
“I want to see the giant slide!” giggled Zoe, pointing at the tall, twisty slide.
“Let's find the popcorn stand!” laughed Lily, patting her tummy.
The girls held hands and skipped through the crowd. Everyone was happy. There were people in funny hats, clowns with red noses, and children in shiny costumes. Music played everywhere. The air smelled sweet, like cotton candy and popcorn.
Suddenly, a parade of drummers marched by. The drums went boom-boom-boom! The girls stopped to watch. Mia clapped her hands. Zoe danced in a circle. Lily jumped up and down. It was so much fun!
But when the parade passed, Mia looked around. “Where are Zoe and Lily?” she said. Mia was all alone. The crowd was big. Mia took a deep breath. She remembered what her mom always said: “If you get lost, stay calm and look for help.”
Mia was a little scared, but she was also brave. She wanted to find her friends again, so she started to look.
Chapter 2: Mia's Carnival Adventure
Mia walked past the popcorn stand. She saw a clown juggling bright balls. “Hello, little one!” said the clown with a big, gentle smile. “Are you having fun?”
“Yes,” said Mia, “but I can't find my friends. Have you seen two girls with pink hats?”
The clown shook his head. “Not yet, but keep looking. The carnival is full of surprises!”
Mia thanked the clown and walked on. She passed a face-painting booth. A lady with sparkly earrings smiled at her. “Would you like a butterfly on your cheek?” she asked.
Mia shook her head. “Maybe later. I am looking for my friends.”
The lady nodded. “Good luck, sweet girl!”
Mia saw a big, colorful tent. Inside, children were laughing and playing games. She peeked inside. She saw a little girl with a pink hat—was it Zoe? Mia called, “Zoe! Zoe!” But it was not Zoe. The girl smiled and waved.
Mia felt a little sad, but she kept walking. She saw a carousel with horses that went up and down. The horses were red, blue, yellow, and green. Mia loved carousels. She listened. Was that Zoe's giggle? Was that Lily's laugh?
Mia ran to the carousel. She looked and looked. But her friends were not there.
Suddenly, Mia heard a tiny voice. “Mia!” It was Lily! Lily stood near the cotton candy stand, holding a big, fluffy pink cloud.
“Lily!” Mia shouted. She ran and hugged her friend.
“I missed you, Mia,” said Lily.
“I missed you, too,” said Mia. “Let's find Zoe!”
Chapter 3: Together Again
Mia and Lily held hands. They walked together, looking for Zoe. The sun was shining, and the air was full of laughter. They passed a stand with silly hats. They tried on big, floppy hats and tiny, wobbly hats. They laughed and took funny pictures.
Then they heard someone singing. It was a sweet, happy song. The girls followed the music and saw Zoe! She was dancing with a group of children, wearing a shiny blue cape.
“Zoe!” called Mia and Lily together.
Zoe turned and smiled. “There you are! I was looking for you!”
The three friends hugged. They were so happy to be together again.
“I got a blue cape!” said Zoe.
“I got cotton candy!” said Lily.
“I saw a clown and a carousel!” said Mia.
The girls laughed. They decided to stay together and see the carnival as a team. They played games and won tiny prizes. They rode the carousel and waved at everyone. They shared cotton candy and popcorn. They danced to the music and made silly faces.
The sun began to set. The lights in the park twinkled like little stars. Mia, Zoe, and Lily sat on a soft blanket and watched the fireworks. The sky sparkled with red, blue, and gold.
“I love the carnival,” whispered Mia.
“I love my friends,” whispered Zoe.
“I love today,” whispered Lily.
The three friends held hands and smiled. It was the best carnival ever. And they knew, together, they could find each other—no matter how big the crowd, or how bright the colors.
