Part 1: Winter Comes to the Forest
Little Wolf woke up early. His nose was cold. His ears felt chilly. Outside, the trees wore white coats. Snow covered the ground, fluffy and soft. The sky was pale and quiet. Little Wolf pressed his nose to the window and saw his breath make a tiny cloud.
He wiggled his tail. "Winter is here," he said softly.
He liked watching the snowflakes fall. They danced and twirled in the air. But Little Wolf felt a little shy. The world looked so different. The bright green leaves were gone. The days felt shorter, and the sun peeked out only for a little while.
Mama Wolf came close. She wrapped Little Wolf in a warm, soft blanket. She smiled and licked his ear gently.
"Good morning, Little Wolf," Mama said. "Winter is a special time. The world is quiet and peaceful. We can stay inside and be cozy."
Little Wolf nodded. He felt safe with Mama. He listened as the wind whispered outside. The sound was soft and far away. Inside, everything was warm and gentle.
"Can we play inside today, Mama?" Little Wolf asked.
"Of course," said Mama. She brought out a basket of soft pinecones and bright red berries. Little Wolf liked to stack the pinecones and roll the berries. They made a little game together.
Little Wolf laughed. He forgot about the cold for a moment. He liked the gentle light inside his den. He liked the soft blanket and the games with Mama.
Part 2: Discovering Winter's Wonders
After a while, Little Wolf looked outside again. The snow was still falling, soft and slow. He saw his reflection in the window. His fur looked fluffier in the winter. His eyes were big and bright.
"Can we go see the snow, Mama?" he asked.
Mama opened the door. Cold air came in, but Mama wrapped a scarf around Little Wolf's neck. They stepped outside together.
The snow made tiny crunching sounds under their paws. The world was quiet and new. Little Wolf saw paw prints in the snow. He made his own, one after another. His nose tingled with the cold air.
He saw a red bird sitting on a snowy branch. The bird sang a small, sweet song. Little Wolf listened. The song made him feel warm inside.
Mama showed Little Wolf how to make a snowball. She rolled the snow with her paws. Little Wolf tried, too. His snowball was small and soft. Mama smiled. "You are learning," she said.
Little Wolf felt proud. He liked learning new things, even in winter. He watched as the snowflakes landed on his fur and melted away.
Soon, his paws felt cold. Mama said, "Let's go back inside, Little Wolf."
They went back to their warm den. Little Wolf felt happy. He had seen the snow, made a snowball, and listened to the red bird's song.
Part 3: Warm Moments Inside
Inside the den, Mama made warm soup. The soup smelled nice and tasted sweet. Little Wolf snuggled in his blanket and sipped his soup. The cold from outside melted away. He felt safe and loved.
The wind still sang outside, but inside, everything was calm. Mama told Little Wolf a story about the seasons. She said, "Winter is just one part of the year. After winter, spring will come, and the world will change again. Every season is special in its own way."
Little Wolf listened. He thought about the snow, the red bird, and the cozy den. He liked winter now. It was cold outside, but inside, there was warmth and love.
Sometimes, Little Wolf felt a little sad when the days were short and gray. But then he remembered the soft blanket, the soup, and Mama's gentle voice. He remembered the pretty snowflakes and the sweet song of the red bird.
Little Wolf learned that winter could be beautiful and kind. When he felt cold or sad, he looked for warm, happy things. He snuggled closer to Mama and felt her love.
As Little Wolf closed his eyes to sleep, he whispered, "Thank you, winter, for your soft snow and your quiet days. Thank you, Mama, for your hugs and your stories."
He knew that even when things changed, there would always be something nice to find. And with that thought, Little Wolf drifted off to sleep, dreaming of gentle snow and warm, happy moments.
