The First Day
In a cozy little forest stood a bright, colorful school made just for animals. The sun peeked through the treetops, making everything glow with a warm, golden light. Inside the school, the happy voices of young animals filled the air. Among them was Benny the Bunny, with his soft, fluffy ears and a big smile on his face.
Benny loved going to school. He loved his friends, his teachers, and especially the games they played outside. Each morning, he hopped to class with his backpack bouncing on his back.
One day, as Benny entered the classroom, he noticed something different. In the corner sat a new face—Tilly the Tortoise. She was small and shy, with a shell that was shiny and green like the leaves.
Benny stopped and thought, “I wonder if Tilly has any friends yet.” He remembered his first day at school and how he felt a little scared.
“Hello, Tilly!” Benny said, smiling warmly. “Would you like to play with us?”
Tilly looked up with wide eyes and nodded slowly. “Yes, please,” she said quietly.
New Friends
During playtime, Benny introduced Tilly to his friends. There was Sammy the Squirrel, who was quick and clever, and Polly the Parrot, who loved to sing. They all played together under the big oak tree, running and laughing.
When they played tag, Tilly moved slowly. But Benny remembered that everyone has their own pace. He waited patiently and cheered her on, “You're doing great, Tilly!”
At lunchtime, they all sat together sharing their snacks. Benny had crunchy carrots, while Tilly brought yummy lettuce leaves. Benny noticed Tilly looked a bit worried.
“Is everything okay, Tilly?” Benny asked gently.
“I'm a little slow,” Tilly sighed. “I'm afraid I might not keep up.”
Benny thought for a moment and then said, “That's okay, Tilly. We're all different, and that's what makes us special! We can always find a way to play together.”
Tilly smiled. “Thank you, Benny. You're a kind friend.”
A Special Day
The teacher, Miss Owl, clapped her wings to gather the class. “Today, we're going to plant a garden!” she announced.
Everyone cheered. Benny and Tilly were partners. They dug small holes and carefully placed seeds in the ground. Benny noticed how careful and gentle Tilly was with each seed, taking her time to make sure they were just right.
“You're really good at planting, Tilly!” Benny said.
“Thank you, Benny,” Tilly replied, her eyes twinkling. “I like to take my time and do it well.”
As the school day ended, Benny felt happy. He had made a new friend, and together they had learned so much. Tilly felt happy too. She had found friends who cared for her and appreciated her just the way she was.
Walking home, Benny thought about the day and whispered to himself, “I'm glad I helped Tilly. Being kind and patient is important.”
And from that day on, Benny and Tilly were the best of friends, always exploring, learning, and playing together. They showed everyone how wonderful it is to be kind and patient, and the forest school was filled with laughter and joy.
