A Summer Begins
Tommy was a curious little boy, just four years old. One sunny morning, he woke up with a big smile. "Today is the first day of summer vacation!" he said, jumping out of bed. He ran to the kitchen where Mommy was making breakfast.
"Good morning, Mommy!" Tommy said.
"Good morning, Tommy! Are you ready for a fun summer?" Mommy asked, smiling at him.
"Yes! Can we go to the park today?" Tommy asked eagerly.
"Of course! We can have a picnic and play games," Mommy replied.
Tommy was excited. He loved the park with its big green trees and colorful flowers. After breakfast, Tommy and Mommy packed a picnic basket with sandwiches, fruits, and juice. They also took a big blanket to sit on.
A Day at the Park
At the park, Tommy met his friend Lucy. Lucy was also four years old, and she had brought her kite. "Hi, Tommy!" Lucy shouted, waving her small hand.
"Hi, Lucy! Do you want to play together?" Tommy asked.
"Yes! Let's fly my kite," Lucy said, showing her bright yellow kite with a long tail.
Tommy and Lucy ran together across the grassy field, laughing as the kite soared high in the sky. It danced with the wind, making them giggle with joy.
"Look, Mommy! It's flying so high!" Tommy called, pointing up.
"You're doing a great job, Tommy and Lucy!" Mommy cheered from the picnic blanket.
After flying the kite, Tommy and Lucy sat down for lunch. They ate their sandwiches and drank juice. Everything tasted special because they were sharing it with friends.
Summer Fun and Learning
After their picnic, Mommy had a surprise. "Let's build a sandcastle!" she announced, pulling out small buckets and shovels.
"Yay!" Tommy and Lucy exclaimed together. They ran to the sandbox and started to dig.
Tommy filled his bucket with sand and carefully turned it over. "Look, Mommy, I made a tower!" he said proudly.
"That's wonderful, Tommy! Can you make a moat around it?" Mommy suggested.
"What's a moat?" Tommy asked, curious.
"It's a small ditch around the castle that can hold water," Mommy explained.
Tommy and Lucy dug a small ditch with their shovels. Then, Mommy poured a little water from a bottle into it. "Now our sandcastle has a moat!" Lucy laughed.
They spent the afternoon building towers and walls, learning about teamwork and patience.
As the sun started to set, it was time to go home. "Did you have fun today, Tommy?" Mommy asked as they packed up.
"Yes, Mommy! I learned about moats and played with Lucy. I love summer!" Tommy replied, happy and tired.
On the way home, Tommy held Mommy's hand. He felt warm inside, knowing that summer was just beginning and there were many more adventures to come.
"We'll have many more days like this," Mommy promised, giving Tommy a hug.
And Tommy knew that every summer day would be filled with love, laughter, and learning, making it the best summer ever.
