Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Lily. Lily was four years old, and she loved the summer. The sun was bright, and the flowers were colorful, just like her favorite rainbow dress.
One sunny morning, Lily woke up to the sound of birds singing. "Tweet-tweet," the birds chirped happily outside her window. Lily stretched her arms and smiled. She knew it was going to be a wonderful summer day.
After breakfast, Lily's mom said, "Let's go to the park, Lily!" Lily clapped her hands with joy. She loved the park with its tall trees and soft green grass. She put on her sandals, and off they went.
At the park, Lily saw her friend Max. "Hi, Max!" she said cheerfully. Max waved and ran over. They decided to play hide-and-seek. Max hid behind a big tree, and Lily began to count, "One, two, three..."
When she found Max, they both laughed and giggled. The park was filled with the sounds of children playing and the gentle rustle of leaves in the breeze.
After playing, Lily and Max sat on a bench to rest. Lily's mom offered them a picnic lunch. There were sandwiches, juicy apples, and a big bottle of lemonade. "Yummy!" said Lily with a big smile.
As they ate, Lily noticed a little bird hopping nearby. It was a bright yellow bird with a tiny beak. "Look, Max, a bird!" Lily said softly, not wanting to scare it away.
Max nodded, "It's so pretty."
Lily remembered something her mom had told her. "We have to be quiet near the bird, so it doesn't get scared," she whispered. Max nodded and watched the bird quietly. It pecked at the ground and chirped a tiny song.
After lunch, they decided to play in the sandbox. Lily and Max built a big sandcastle with towers and a moat. "This is the best castle ever!" Max exclaimed. They decorated it with small sticks and leaves.
The sun was getting lower in the sky, and Lily's mom said it was time to go home. "Already?" Lily asked, a little sad to leave. But she knew they would come back another day.
On the way home, Lily felt happy. She had played games, eaten delicious food, and learned something new about being quiet with birds.
When they got home, Lily's mom gave her a big hug. "You were so good at the park today," she said. "You were kind and gentle. I'm very proud of you."
Lily beamed with joy. She felt warm and happy inside, just like the summer sun.
As Lily lay in bed that night, she thought about her day. She whispered, "Goodnight, little bird," and drifted off to sleep, dreaming of more summer adventures to come. And the gentle sound of the wind outside sang her a sweet lullaby.
