One morning, gentle Tom woke up. He saw the sun peeking in. The light danced on his bed. Tom smiled. “Good morning, Sun!” said Tom. The sun winked.

Tom walked into the forest. The trees whispered, “Hello, Tom.” Their leaves waved like little hands. Tom laughed, “Hello, Trees!” The birds sang, “Tweet, tweet!”

Tom heard a soft bell. Ding, ding, ding. Out from a flower came a fairy. She was tiny and bright. Her wings sparkled. The fairy sang, “Hello, Tom. I am Lily.” Tom's eyes grew big. “Hello, Fairy Lily!” said Tom.

Lily smiled, “Tom, you are kind. I give you a magic feather.” She held out a shiny feather. It glowed blue and gold. “This is for helping friends,” said Lily.

Tom took the feather. “Thank you, Fairy Lily!” said Tom. Lily nodded, “Use it to help, Tom. Use it to share.” Tom held the feather close.

Tom walked on. He met Bunny. Bunny was sad. “I lost my carrot,” Bunny cried. Tom waved the magic feather. “Feather, help Bunny!” he said. The feather twinkled. A carrot popped up! Bunny smiled. “Thank you, Tom!” Bunny hugged Tom.

Tom walked more. He saw Little Bird. Little Bird was scared. “My nest is gone,” said Little Bird. Tom waved the magic feather. “Feather, help Bird!” The feather shone. A nest appeared. Little Bird chirped, “Thank you, Tom!”

The sun got low. Tom saw Fairy Lily again. “Tom, you used the feather well,” Lily said. “You helped your friends. You were brave and kind.”

Tom smiled. “Thank you, Fairy Lily.” The fairy kissed Tom's cheek. “Remember, Tom,” she said, “Kindness is magic.”

Tom went home. The stars came out. The moon sang, “Good night, Tom.” Tom hugged his feather. He closed his eyes. “Good night, magic world,” he whispered. And Tom dreamed of kind things.
