One chilly day, little Max saw a tiny hat in the tree. "What's this?" he wondered. Up high, a giggly elf peeked out. "Hello, Max!" said the elf. "I'm Jingles!"
Jingles the elf loved to play tricks. He hung socks on the tree and put cookies in Max's shoes. "Oh, Jingles!" laughed Max. "You're so silly!"
Max had an idea. "Let's catch Jingles!" he whispered. Max hid behind the sofa with a soft blanket. Jingles tiptoed by, giggling. "Gotcha!" Max shouted, jumping out. But Jingles was too quick and ran away, laughing.
Max tried again. He placed a sparkly star on the floor. "Jingles will like this," he thought. Jingles saw the star and twinkled with joy. Max crept close. "Almost!" he whispered. But Jingles danced away, leaving a trail of glitter.
Max giggled and sat down. "Jingles," he said, "you are so much fun!" Jingles smiled and said, "Christmas is for games and giggles!"
Max and Jingles laughed together, playing and twirling around the tree. They hung bright lights and jingling bells. "Look, Max!" said Jingles. "Now it's Christmas magic!"
Max smiled wide. He knew Jingles' tricks were friendly and fun. "Thank you, Jingles," Max said. "Merry Christmas!"
That night, Max snuggled in bed, dreaming of Jingles, stars, and happy Christmas tricks. His heart felt warm with joy. And somewhere, Jingles giggled softly under the twinkling tree.
