A massive creature, half fish and half dragon, emerged from the water, its scales reflecting the sunlight. The girls gasped, frozen in awe. “Who dares disturb my lake?” the creature boomed, its voice echoing through the trees.
“We…we found your scale!” Mia stammered, holding it up.
The creature's eyes softened. “Ah, my precious scale! I thought I had lost it forever. You must have courage to come here. What do you seek?”
“We're on an adventure to find treasure!” Zoe bravely declared, her imagination taking the lead.
The creature nodded thoughtfully. “Then you must prove your bravery. There is a hidden cave nearby. Inside, you will find your treasure, but beware — it is guarded by the shadows of the forest.”
Chapter 4: The Shadowy Cave
With the creature's words echoing in their ears, the girls set off towards the cave. The sun had started to dip below the horizon, painting the sky in shades of purple and orange. The forest felt different now, shadows creeping in around them, making every rustle seem ominous.
“There it is!” Mia exclaimed, pointing to the mouth of a dark cave, its entrance covered in vines and moss. The excitement was palpable, but so was the tension.
“Are we really going in there?” Lily asked, her voice quivering slightly.
“Together, we can do anything!” Mia said, her determination shining through. They took a deep breath and stepped into the darkness, the air cool and damp.

The shadows paused, momentarily stunned by their courage. “Why do you enter our domain?” one shadow asked, its voice echoing like the wind.
“We seek treasure!” Zoe declared, her voice steady despite her racing heart.
The shadows exchanged glances, then began to laugh. “Many have sought treasure, but few have proven their bravery! Solve our riddle, and you shall pass,” the largest shadow declared. “What begins with T, ends with T, and has T in it?”
The girls looked at each other, puzzled. “Think, girls!” Lily urged. “It's a tricky one.”
“Tiger?” Zoe guessed, but it didn't feel right.
“Wait! I know!” Mia shouted, her eyes lighting up. “It's a teapot!”
The shadows fell silent. “Correct. You may proceed!” they said, parting to reveal a path deeper into the cave.
