Two nearly three-year-old boys in a bright morning children’s bedroom: Max (curly chestnut hair, round face) sits on a light-wood floor by a colorful sun-and-cloud rug, one foot socked and gently pulling a small white sock from under the rug; Leo (straight brown hair, large round glasses) kneels to Max’s right, smiling, one hand poised to clap and the other holding a red plastic magnifying glass; low bed with a crumpled sky-blue blanket, an open toy box with a few toys and a small beige teddy near the rug; joyful discovery scene centered on the boys, warm pastel watercolor tones with soft splashes around the edges. report a problem with this image

Part 1: The Missing Sock Mystery

It was a sunny morning. Max and Leo were playing in Max's room. Max had curly hair. Leo had big glasses. They were both almost three years old.

Max looked at his feet. He laughed. “Oh! I have only one sock!” he said.

Leo looked at his own feet. He had two socks. “Where is your other sock, Max?” asked Leo.

Max shook his head. “I don't know. It was here. Now it is gone!” he said.

Leo grinned. “Let's be detectives!” he said.

Max clapped. “Yes! We can find my sock.”

Leo put his hands on his hips. “We need to look everywhere.”

Max nodded. “Let's look!”

Part 2: Searching the Room

First, Max and Leo looked under the bed. They saw a red toy car, a blue ball, and a tiny book. But no sock.

Leo pointed. “What is that?” he asked.

Max peeked. “That's my teddy bear, Max said.

Leo giggled. “Hello, Teddy! Did you see a sock?”

Max made Teddy talk. “No sock here!” said Teddy.

Max and Leo laughed.

Next, they looked behind the chair. They found a yellow block and a crayon. But no sock.

Leo scratched his head. “Hmm. Where else?” he wondered.

Max looked at his toy box. “Maybe it is inside!”

They opened the toy box. There were dinosaurs, a puzzle, and a little drum. But no sock.

Leo smiled. “Let's check the bookshelf!”

They looked at the books. They saw a green book, a purple book, and a picture book with a dog. But no sock.

Max sat down on the floor. “Sock is lost,” he said.

Leo sat next to him. “Don't worry. We are good detectives, Leo said.

Part 3: The Clue and the Happy Ending

Max looked around the room. He saw something white and small peeking out from under the rug.

“Look!” said Max.

Leo crawled over. “What is it?”

Max pulled. It was a sock! It was Max's missing sock.

“Hooray!” cheered Max.

Leo clapped. “You found it! You are a super detective, Max.”

Max grinned. “We are both super detectives.”

They laughed and put the sock back on Max's foot.

Leo said, “Mystery solved!”

Max said, “Thank you, Leo. You helped me.”

They high-fived. Max wiggled his toes. Both socks were warm and snug.

Then Max and Leo danced around the room. They were happy. The sock was not lost anymore.

The room was safe and bright. Max and Leo knew they could solve mysteries together, anytime.

And that made them smile, all day long.
