Chapter 1: Sunny Days at Squirrelwood

“Wake up, Nutty!” chirped Pippa the little grey squirrel, peeking into her brother's room. The warm sun shone through the leafy window.

Nutty yawned and stretched his fluffy tail. “Is it summer, Pippa?”

Pippa giggled. “Yes! Summer is here! Holiday time!”

Nutty scampered down from his acorn bed. “I love summer holidays. What will we do today?”

Mama Squirrel came in with a happy smile. “Good morning, my little ones. Today, we will start our special summer traditions.”

Nutty twitched his nose. “What are traditions, Mama?”

Mama Squirrel sat beside her children. “Traditions are things we do every summer, together. They make our hearts happy.”

Pippa clapped her paws. “Can we go to the old oak tree today?”

Mama nodded. “Yes, we will go for a picnic. We can watch the butterflies and listen to the birds.”

Nutty's eyes sparkled. “Can we build something, Mama? Like a new swing?”

Mama Squirrel hugged her little ones. “After our picnic, we can work on building a swing. We will all help.”

Pippa's tummy rumbled. “Let's pack the basket! Let's put in crunchy nuts and juicy berries!”

Mama and the little squirrels filled the basket with tasty treats. They giggled when Nutty tried to sneak an extra nut.

Soon, they walked through the sun-dappled woods, their fluffy tails waving happily.

Chapter 2: Picnic and Projects

At the big old oak tree, Mama spread a soft blanket. The squirrels sat together.

Pippa pointed up. “Look, a blue butterfly!”

Nutty smiled. “I see a red ladybird, too!”

Mama poured acorn milk for everyone. “Summer is for trying new things and having fun together,” she said gently.

After the picnic, Mama said, “Let's make our summer swing. First, we find a strong stick.”

Nutty ran around the tree. “Here's a big stick, Mama!”

Pippa found some soft vines. “I have vines for tying.”

They worked together. Mama tied the vines. Nutty and Pippa held the stick steady. Soon, the swing was ready.

Nutty sat on the swing. “Wheee! I'm flying!” he laughed.

Pippa tried next. “This is the best summer day!”

Mama gave them a big smile. “We did it together. That makes it special.”

Chapter 3: Starry Nights and Summer Dreams

As the day turned to night, Mama Squirrel, Nutty, and Pippa lay on the soft grass.

Pippa whispered, “The stars are twinkling. I love our summer.”

Nutty nodded sleepily. “Me too. I like building things, picnics, and being with you and Mama.”

Mama Squirrel wrapped her tail around her little ones. “Summer is for making memories, my dears. Every day, we learn and laugh together.”

Pippa yawned, “Tomorrow can we make something new, Mama?”

Mama stroked her head. “Of course, my darling. Every day is a new adventure with our family.”

Nutty snuggled close. “Thank you for our summer, Mama.”

Mama smiled. “Thank you, Nutty. Thank you, Pippa. I love our family time.”

The little squirrels closed their eyes, dreaming sweet summer dreams, safe and happy, together.
