Once, in a very small house, there was a very small girl named Molly. Molly had curly hair, bright shoes, and a giggle that bounced like a ball. Molly liked to look for magic in her room. She found it everywhere.
One morning, Molly saw her sock move. “Hello, sock!” she said. The sock wiggled. It wanted to play! “Let's hop!” said Molly. The sock hopped off the bed. Molly laughed. “Socks do not hop!” she said. The sock wiggled again. “I do!” it said.
Molly clapped her hands. Her teddy bear blinked. “Can I hop too?” asked Teddy. Molly nodded. Now Teddy, Molly, and the sock bounced across the floor.
Suddenly, Molly's hat rolled away. “Wait!” called Molly. The hat stopped and peeked from under the chair. “Do you want to play, hat?” Molly asked. The hat spun in a little dance. “I do!” it said.
The spoon on the table wobbled. “Can I dance too?” it asked. Now everyone was dancing. The sock hopped. The teddy bounced. The hat spun. The spoon wiggled. Molly giggled. “You are all so funny!” she said.
Oops! The spoon tumbled. “Oh no,” said Molly. “Are you okay?” The spoon nodded. “Just a little dizzy!” Molly hugged the spoon. “It's alright. Let's rest.”
Everyone sat down. Molly's mom peeked in. “What a busy room!” she smiled. Molly smiled too. “My friends can dance!” she said. Mom winked. “Of course. With you, magic is always here.”
At bedtime, Molly hugged her friends. “Goodnight, sock. Goodnight, Teddy. Goodnight, hat. Goodnight, spoon.” Everyone was happy.
When you share your laughter, even socks feel magic.
