Chapter 1: The Humming City

Lina woke up to the soft glow of the morning sky, shining through her bendable window. She stretched and listened: the city was already humming. From her bed, she could see the swirling patterns on the soft screen that wrapped around her room. It changed colors gently, greeting her with a cheerful, “Good morning, Lina!”

“Good morning, House!” she answered with a giggle.

Lina slid out of bed and tiptoed across the smooth, cool floor. She pressed her palm to the wall, and a bright blue hologram appeared, showing her the day's weather. “Sunny, with a breeze,” it announced in a clear, soft voice.

Lina's home was part of a great, shining city, full of patios and gardens that everyone shared. The buildings curved and sparkled, and all around, flexible screens and friendly holograms helped people live together. In the patio outside, Lina could see her neighbors watering the green vines that hung from the railings.

She ran outside, her shoes lighting up with every step. “Morning, Mrs. Ivy!” she called to her neighbor, who was tending to a pot of strawberries.

Mrs. Ivy smiled, her face brightening like the morning sun. “Good morning, Lina! Ready for another day?”

Lina nodded. “I want to find out how the city's screens know what we need. And how the holograms talk to us!” she said. She always had questions, and today she hoped to find some answers.

Mrs. Ivy winked. “Curiosity is a good thing, Lina. Why don't you visit the Knowledge Center? They're always happy to explain.”

Lina grinned and waved goodbye as she skipped through the winding paths of the patio gardens, the city's gentle music playing softly around her.

Chapter 2: Screens, Holograms, and Big Questions

The Knowledge Center stood tall in the middle of the city, its walls made of shimmering screens that bent and moved like ribbons in the wind. Lina pressed the door button, and a friendly green hologram appeared.

“Welcome, Lina!” it said, its voice gentle and warm. “What would you like to learn today?”

Lina thought for a moment. “How do the screens help people? And how do they know when to show us things?”

The hologram smiled. “That's a wonderful question. Would you like to see for yourself?”

Lina nodded eagerly. The hologram led her inside, where the walls were covered in soft, glowing panels. People sat at round tables, reading and talking. Some were drawing pictures on the screens with their fingers, while others played games together.

The hologram pointed to a nearby screen. “These screens are smart, but they only use what they need. They turn off when no one is nearby and light up when someone comes close. That way, we save energy for things that matter.”

Lina pressed her hand to the screen and watched as it lit up with a gentle light. “It feels like magic,” she whispered.

The hologram laughed kindly. “It's science, but it can feel magical! And all the holograms are programmed to help, not to use more than we need. We share power, just like we share space.”

Lina's eyes widened. “Why do we try to use less? Wouldn't it be easier to just use more?”

A tall man nearby smiled and joined their conversation. “Hello, Lina. I'm Mr. Bright. Using less means there's enough for everyone, and for the city's gardens and animals too.”

Lina thought about this. “So, it's better for everyone if we don't waste things?”

Mr. Bright nodded. “Exactly! And it keeps the city peaceful and bright.”

Lina beamed. She liked the idea of a city where everyone shared and cared.

Chapter 3: The Missing Light

On her way back home, Lina noticed something strange. The patio lights near her home were dim. She frowned and touched a nearby screen. It flickered but didn't shine like usual.

She found her friend Sam sitting nearby. “Sam, do you see the lights? They're not working!”

Sam tapped the screen. “Maybe it's broken?”

Lina shook her head. “I don't think so. Remember what the hologram said? The screens save power. Maybe too many lights are on somewhere else.”

Sam grinned. “Should we find out?”

Lina nodded. Together, they followed the soft, blue lines on the ground that guided people around the city. The lines led them to a busy corner where a group of children were playing with a giant hologram display. It was spinning and flashing, brighter than any other.

“Wow!” Sam said. “That's a lot of light!”

Lina stepped forward and spoke politely, “Excuse me. Could you turn the display down a bit? Some of the patio lights aren't working.”

The children looked surprised, but one of them, Mia, nodded. “We didn't know! We just liked the colors.”

Lina smiled. “It's really pretty, but if we all use a little less, everyone gets enough.”

Mia pressed a button, and the display gently dimmed. Almost immediately, the patio lights near Lina's home began to glow again.

“Thank you!” Lina cheered.

Everyone clapped and laughed. The city felt even brighter than before.

Chapter 4: New Ideas in the City

Later that afternoon, Lina sat with her mom on their sunny balcony. She told her all about her day—the hologram, Mr. Bright, and the adventure with the lights.

Her mom hugged her gently. “I'm proud of you, Lina. You helped everyone by asking questions and sharing what you learned.”

Lina nodded. “I think if we all talk and share, the city works better. Maybe we could have a day where everyone shares ideas about saving energy!”

Her mom smiled. “That's a wonderful idea. You should tell Mrs. Ivy and Mr. Bright.”

That evening, as the sun set and the city screens glowed softly, Lina gathered with her friends and neighbors in the patio garden. She stood up and said, “If we all help each other, we can make the city even better! We can share our ideas and use only what we need.”

Everyone listened, and soon they were all talking about new ways to care for their city. Some wanted to plant more gardens, others wanted to make the screens even smarter. Lina beamed with pride.

Chapter 5: A Promise for Tomorrow

The next morning, Lina woke to the gentle glow of her window and the soft hum of the city. She felt happy and hopeful. She had learned so much, just by asking questions and working with her friends.

As she walked outside, Mrs. Ivy waved. “Good morning, Lina! Ready for another bright day?”

Lina nodded. “Yes! And today, I want to help more. Maybe we can make the city even better—together.”

Mrs. Ivy smiled, and the patio garden sparkled in the morning sun. Lina knew that as long as everyone shared, cared, and asked questions, their city would always shine.

And she promised herself to always use just what she needed, so that everyone—and every garden—could grow bright and happy, too.
