Chapter 1: Good Morning, Little Leo
“Leo, it's time to wake up,” said Mommy softly.
Leo opened his eyes. His room was bright and warm. His teddy bear, Brownie, was next to him.
“Good morning, Mommy,” Leo said, rubbing his eyes.
“Today is a special day,” Mommy smiled. “You will go to Little Stars School. You will play and make new friends.”
Leo held Brownie close. “Will you come with me, Mommy?”
Mommy hugged Leo gently. “I will take you there. But you will stay and have fun with your friends and teachers. I will come back to get you after snack time.”
Leo's eyes felt big and round. “What if I miss you?”
Mommy kissed his head. “It's okay to miss me. You can hug Brownie and remember I love you. And I will come back soon.”
Leo was quiet. He squeezed Brownie. Brownie was soft and safe.
Daddy came in. “Are you ready for your big day, Leo?”
Leo looked at Mommy. “Will you wait for me?”
“I will always come back,” Mommy said.
Leo nodded. He put on his red shoes and held Brownie tight.
Chapter 2: Leo at Little Stars School
At the school, Leo saw bright pictures and tiny chairs. There were other children with their mommies and daddies.
“Hello, Leo!” said Miss Emma, the teacher. She had a kind smile.
Leo hid behind Mommy's leg. “I feel a little scared,” he whispered.
Miss Emma bent down. “It's okay to feel scared. Would you like to see the book corner?”
Leo peeked at the colorful books. He shook his head.
Mommy knelt beside him. “I know this is new. I will stay for a little bit, and then I will go. You can be brave, Leo.”
Leo held Mommy's hand. He watched the other children play with blocks.
A little girl smiled at Leo. “Hi, I'm Mia. Do you like blocks?”
Leo nodded, still holding Mommy's hand.
Mia showed Leo a red block. “Red is my favorite. What's yours?”
Leo looked at the blocks. “I like blue.”
Mia gave Leo a blue block. “Let's build a tower!”
Leo put the blue block on top. The tower was wobbly, but Mia laughed.
“You did it, Leo!” Mia cheered.
Mommy smiled. “I see you are having fun, Leo. I will go now, but I'll come back after snack time.”
Leo's tummy felt twisty. He hugged Brownie and waved goodbye.
Chapter 3: Leo Finds His Smile
Leo sat with Brownie. Miss Emma came over. “Would Brownie like to listen to a story?”
Leo nodded. He and Brownie sat with the other children. Miss Emma read a story about a little rabbit who was brave.
Leo listened. He forgot to feel scared. He smiled at Brownie.
At snack time, Mia sat next to Leo. “Do you want some apple?” she asked.
Leo took a bite. “Thank you, Mia.”
Miss Emma clapped her hands. “Well done, everyone! Snack time is finished.”
Leo looked at the door. He wondered if Mommy would come.
Soon, Leo saw Mommy. She waved and smiled.
“Mommy!” Leo ran and hugged her.
“You did so well, Leo!” Mommy said. “Did you have fun?”
Leo nodded. “I played with Mia. I listened to a story. I was a little scared, but then I felt happy.”
Mommy hugged Leo tight. “I am proud of you. Sometimes new things feel scary. But you tried, and you found out you can be brave.”
Leo smiled. “I can be brave, Mommy. And Brownie can too.”
Mommy kissed Leo's cheek. “Every day, you can try a little more. And I will always come back.”
Leo held Mommy's hand. He felt warm inside. He knew he could try again tomorrow. And he knew he was very, very loved.
