Ellie the elephant wakes up. It is night. Everyone is quiet. But Ellie is not sleepy. Ellie is ready to play!
“Let's go!” says Ellie. She tiptoes on her big toes. “Shhh!” says Ellie. “No one must see!”
Ellie walks to the gate. The gate is open! Out jumps Leo the lion. “Boo!” says Leo.
“Oh!” says Ellie. “You scared me!”
Leo laughs. “Let's have fun, Ellie!”
They run to the animal village. It is full of friends. There is Penny the penguin, wearing pink boots. There is Gary the giraffe, with a big red hat. There is Molly the monkey, with a long, long scarf.
“Let's play the Silly Hat Game!” says Molly. She puts a banana on her head.
Ellie finds a big, wobbly hat. “Look at me!” says Ellie. The hat falls down. “Oops!” says Ellie. Everyone laughs.
“Now, let's have the Funny Walk Race!” says Gary. Penny waddles. Leo hops. Molly swings. Ellie tries to tiptoe. Her feet go flop, flop, flop!
“Go, Ellie! Go!” cheer the friends. Ellie flops and flops and flops. She is so fast! Her ears flap-flap.
“Yay, Ellie!” shout all the animals. Ellie giggles. “This is silly!”
The moon is big. The stars twinkle. Ellie hugs her friends. “Good night,” says Ellie. “See you for more fun!”
