Dr. Tom wakes up early. He smiles and puts on his big white coat. He has a friendly bag. Inside, there are little tools—one for listening, one for looking, one for checking.
Dr. Tom walks to the clinic. He waves at the tree and says, “Good morning, tree!” The sun is soft. Birds sing hello.
At the clinic, Dr. Tom meets little Mia. Mia feels tired. She holds her bear. Dr. Tom kneels down. “Hello, Mia! How are you today?” Mia smiles a little.
Dr. Tom washes his hands. “I am keeping germs away,” he says. He uses his soft, warm hands. He listens to Mia's chest with his stethoscope. “Boom-boom, boom-boom,” he says. Mia giggles.
Dr. Tom looks in Mia's mouth. “Say, ‘Ahhh,'” he says. Mia says, “Ahhh,” like a tiny lion. Dr. Tom is gentle. He checks Mia's ear. “All is good,” he says.
Dr. Tom gives Mia a sticker. “You are so brave!” he says. Mia smiles big. Her bear gets a sticker too.
Mia's mom says, “Thank you, Dr. Tom.” Dr. Tom says, “I help people feel better.”
Dr. Tom washes his hands again. He sings a clean hands song. He waves at everyone. The day is happy.
He goes home with a smile, ready to help tomorrow.
Being kind and gentle helps everyone feel safe and strong.
