Chapter 1: Summer Camp Begins
Benny Bear woke up with a big smile. The sun was shining. The birds were singing. Today was the first day of summer camp!
“Mama, is it time to go?” Benny asked, bouncing on his little bear feet.
Mama Bear smiled and nodded. “Yes, Benny. It's time for summer camp. You will have so much fun!”
Benny put on his red hat. He hugged his favorite teddy bear tight. He held Mama's paw as they walked to the big school building. Lots of little animals were there. Some were laughing. Some looked a little shy.
Benny felt a little shy too. He squeezed Mama's paw.
“It's okay, Benny,” Mama said softly. “You can make new friends. You can try new things.”
Benny nodded. He took a big breath. He was ready.
Miss Owl, the teacher, called out, “Welcome, everyone! Summer camp is for fun and learning. Let's play and explore together!”
Benny sat in a circle with the other children. He saw Rosie Rabbit, who had long ears and a pink dress. He saw Max Mole, who wore big glasses. They all smiled at each other.
Miss Owl said, “Let's sing our welcome song!”
Benny sang with the others. The song was happy and easy. Benny clapped his paws. Rosie and Max clapped too.
Summer camp had begun.
Chapter 2: Trying New Things
After the song, Miss Owl said, “Today, we will paint, play games, and look at the stars.”
Benny's eyes grew big. He liked to paint. He wanted to play games. He loved looking up at the stars.
First, they went to the art table. There were big sheets of paper and bright paints.
“I like blue,” said Benny.
“I like pink!” said Rosie.
Max smiled. “I like yellow!”
They dipped their brushes in paint. Benny made a big blue sun. Rosie painted pink flowers. Max painted a yellow star.
“Your sun is so round and bright, Benny!” Rosie said.
“Thank you, Rosie,” Benny said, smiling.
Miss Owl said, “You are all artists. Well done!”
Next, it was time for games outside. The grass was soft and green. Benny and his friends played catch with a red ball.
“Catch, Benny!” said Max.
Benny reached out his paws. He caught the ball! He laughed. Rosie clapped.
“You did it, Benny!” Rosie cheered.
Benny felt happy and proud.
After games, they sat in a circle again. Miss Owl brought out a big book. It was full of pictures of the sky.
“Tonight, you can look for stars at home,” Miss Owl said. “The sky is full of surprises.”
Benny thought about the stars. He wanted to see them with Mama.
Chapter 3: A Special Night
After camp, Benny ran home with Mama.
“Mama, can we look at the stars tonight?” Benny asked.
“Yes, Benny,” Mama said. “Let's have a summer picnic and watch the sky.”
That evening, Benny and Mama sat on a soft blanket in the yard. They ate sweet berries and honey sandwiches. The sky turned pink and orange.
Soon, the first stars blinked above.
“Look, Mama! I see a star!” Benny pointed.
“Yes, Benny. It's twinkling just for you,” Mama said.
Benny felt warm and safe. He remembered his friends at camp. He remembered painting and playing games. He remembered Miss Owl's gentle words.
Benny closed his eyes for a moment. He felt happy inside.
“I like summer camp,” Benny whispered.
Mama hugged him. “You are learning and growing every day, Benny. I am so proud of you.”
Benny smiled. He knew tomorrow would be another fun day. There would be more to learn, more to play, and more to share with friends.
Summer was full of joy.
