A New Day at School

One sunny morning, Ethan woke up with a big smile. Today was his first day at school, and he was excited to make new friends. Ethan was a curious and cheerful little boy, always ready to discover the world around him.

When Ethan arrived at school, he saw many children playing in the playground. He noticed a group of kids laughing and running around. Ethan waved at them, and a boy with bright red sneakers waved back.

"Hi! I'm Ethan," he said, walking over.

"Hi Ethan! I'm Sam," replied the boy in red sneakers. "Do you want to play tag with us?"

Ethan nodded eagerly and joined in. As they played, Ethan spotted a girl sitting quietly under a big oak tree. She was watching them with a shy smile.

The Quiet Girl

After the game of tag, Ethan decided to go over to the girl under the tree. "Hi, I'm Ethan. What's your name?" he asked with a friendly smile.

The girl looked up and spoke softly, "I'm Lily."

"Why are you sitting here alone, Lily?" Ethan asked gently.

Lily shrugged her shoulders. "I like watching everyone play, but I'm a little shy."

Ethan thought for a moment. "That's okay! You can still join us if you want. I promise it's fun!"

Lily shook her head but smiled a little wider. "Maybe later," she said.

Ethan didn't want to push her, so he sat down next to her. "We can sit together, then!" he suggested.

Lily looked surprised but happy. "Okay," she said quietly, and they sat together watching the others play.

A Special Game

The next day at recess, Ethan had an idea. He ran over to Sam and the other kids. "Let's play a new game today!" he announced. "It's called 'Find the Treasure.' Everyone can help!"

Sam was curious. "How do we play, Ethan?"

Ethan explained, "We have to find treasures hidden around the playground. It can be a pretty leaf, a shiny rock, or anything special. Everyone can be part of the team!"

The kids loved the idea and quickly started searching for treasures. Ethan saw Lily sitting under her tree again and waved her over. "Come join us, Lily! We need your help to find the best treasure!"

Lily hesitated, but seeing Ethan's encouraging smile, she decided to join them. She quietly started looking around the playground, and soon she found a colorful feather.

"Look what I found!" Lily exclaimed, her eyes sparkling with excitement.

"Wow, that's amazing, Lily!" Ethan said, and everyone admired the feather.

Lily beamed with pride, feeling included and happy.

Building Friendships

As the days passed, Ethan continued including Lily in their games. He always made sure she felt welcome and appreciated. Sam and the other kids noticed how special Lily's ideas were and how much fun they had with her around.

One day, Lily surprised everyone by suggesting a new game. "Let's play 'Animal Parade'!" she said, her voice more confident than before. "We can all pretend to be different animals and walk around like we're in a parade."

The kids loved the idea and happily followed Lily as she led the parade. Ethan pretended to be a roaring lion, while Sam was a hopping kangaroo. Lily was a graceful swan, and she laughed as she flapped her pretend wings.

When the parade ended, Lily smiled and said, "Thank you for being my friends."

Ethan grinned and said, "We're glad you're our friend, Lily. Everyone is special in their own way."

From that day on, Lily wasn't the quiet girl under the tree anymore. She was part of the group, bringing her unique ideas and kind spirit to every game they played.

Ethan learned that being kind and welcoming could turn differences into something wonderful. And every child felt happy knowing they had a friend like Ethan who saw the best in everyone.
