“Woof! Woof! Let's play!” barked Benny the dog. He wagged his tail, ready for fun.
“Play? What play?” asked Lucy the cat, yawning. She was sitting on the sunny porch.
“Hide and seek!” Benny said, bouncing around. “You hide, I seek!”
“Okay!” Lucy purred, stretching her legs. “Count to ten!”
Benny closed his eyes. “One, two, three…” He heard Lucy's soft paws tiptoe away. Five, six, seven… He peeked. Where was Lucy?
Benny opened his eyes. “Ready or not, here I come!” He sniffed the air. “Hmm, where are you, Lucy?”
Suddenly, he spotted a tail peeking from behind a tree. “I see you!”
“No fair!” Lucy giggled, jumping out. “You found me too fast!”
“Let's play again!” Benny said, wagging his tail. “Now I hide!”
Lucy's eyes sparkled. “Okay! Count again!”
Benny hid behind the big flower pot. “One, two, three…” He felt very sneaky.
“Where are you?” Lucy called. She looked high and low. “Not here!”
Then, Benny sneezed! “Achoo!”
“Found you!” Lucy laughed. “The sneaky dog is behind the flower pot!”
Benny laughed too. “It's so funny!”
“Let's play more!” Lucy said, bouncing with joy.
“More fun!” Benny wagged his tail. “Let's go!”
And off they went, playing, laughing, and having the best day.
