"Hey, Ellie! Let's play!" said Benny the bunny.
Ellie the elephant looked up. “What game?” she asked, her big ears flapping.
“Hide and seek!” Benny wiggled his nose. “You count, and I'll hide!”
“Okay!” Ellie smiled. “One… two… three…”
Benny hopped away quickly. He hid behind a big tree. “Hee hee!” he giggled. “Ellie will never find me!”
“Four… five… six…” Ellie counted loudly.
Suddenly, she peeked. “Benny! Where are you?”
Benny whispered, “I'm right here!”
“Are you behind the tree?” Ellie asked, taking a step closer.
“No!” Benny shouted.
Ellie grinned. “Gotcha!”
Benny jumped out. “You found me! Your turn!”
Now it was Benny's turn to count. “One… two… three…” he said, covering his eyes with his big floppy ears.
Ellie smiled and ran to hide. But where? Behind a rock? No, too small! Behind a bush? Too scratchy!
“Seven… eight… nine…” Benny counted.
Ellie giggled and squeezed behind a big flower. “He'll never find me here!”
“Ten! Ready or not, here I come!” Benny shouted.
He looked and looked. “Ellie! Where are you?”
Then he saw the big flower shaking. “Hmm… what's that?”
Benny tiptoed over. “Gotcha, Ellie!” he squealed.
Ellie laughed. “You found me! This is fun!”
And they played all day, having the best time ever!
