A joyful 4-year-old boy in a bright blue hat, tousled brown hair, rosy cheeks and laughing eyes holds a small red basket and shows a white flower; his smiling, moved father (about 35) with a light beard and casual shirt kneels at knee level to embrace him on the right; the attentive mother (about 32) with a ponytail and floral dress stands behind a red-and-white picnic blanket smiling at the scene; sunny park with a large green lawn, round‑canopied tree casting dappled shade, fluffy white clouds and a butterfly perched on the hat; main scene: surprise Father's Day picnic — the boy gives a flower and a drawing to his father, tender joyful mood, soft colors and visible watercolor textures. report a problem with this image

Tommy woke up with a big idea. Today was a special day. It was Father's Day! Tommy wanted to make Daddy smile, really big. He jumped out of bed and tiptoed to his toy box. He found his favorite blue hat and put it on. Then he tiptoed to Mommy.

“Mommy, can we have a picnic for Daddy?” whispered Tommy.

Mommy smiled and nodded. “That's a wonderful idea, Tommy.”

Tommy clapped his hands. He picked out Daddy's favorite snacks: apples, little sandwiches, and chocolate cookies. He even added two bananas. “Bananas make Daddy laugh,” said Tommy.

Mommy helped Tommy pack everything in a big red basket. Tommy placed a small daisy on top. “Daddy loves flowers,” he said. Then he drew a picture of Daddy and Tommy holding hands. He put it in the basket too.

Outside, the sun shined bright and the grass was soft and green. Tommy found the perfect spot under a big tree. “This is the best picnic place,” he said.

Daddy came outside. Tommy ran to him and hugged his legs tight. “Happy Father's Day, Daddy!” he shouted.

Daddy smiled and lifted Tommy up high. “Thank you, Tommy. What a surprise!”

They all sat on the picnic blanket. Tommy gave Daddy the basket. Daddy opened it and saw the daisy and the picture. He laughed and gave Tommy a big, warm hug.

Tommy shared the sandwiches. “Try this one, Daddy. It has extra cheese!” Daddy took a big bite and said, “Yum! This is the best sandwich ever.”

They played funny games, like Who Can Roar Like a Lion. Tommy roared so loud that a butterfly flew by and landed on his hat. Everyone laughed.

Then Tommy handed Daddy a chocolate cookie. “One for you, one for me, and one for Mommy,” he said.

After eating, they lay back on the blanket, looking at the clouds. Tommy pointed, “That one looks like a dragon. That one looks like a shoe!”

Daddy squeezed Tommy's hand. “Thank you for my best picnic ever,” said Daddy.

Tommy smiled. “I love you, Daddy. Happy Father's Day.”

At the end of the day, they packed up, feeling happy and full of love. Tommy knew little things made big smiles, especially for Daddy.
