Little Bear woke up in his soft, cozy bed. Sunlight peeked through the leaves outside his window. He stretched his big furry arms and yawned. Today, Little Bear felt ready for an adventure.
He hopped down from his bed and looked around. His room was filled with his favorite things—his red blanket, his soft blue pillow, and his shiny flashlight on the shelf. But something was missing. Where was his flashlight? He wanted to shine it and make stars on the walls.
Little Bear looked under his bed. He found a sock and a round pebble, but no flashlight. He looked behind his pillow. He found a small book, but no flashlight.
“I need my flashlight,” Little Bear said. He wanted to make a special story with light. He wanted to see how bright it could shine.
He remembered that he had played with it the day before, near the big chair in the living room. He padded softly on his paws. The house felt quiet and safe. In the living room, he found his friend Bunny, hopping in circles.
“Hello, Bunny!” said Little Bear.
“Hello, Little Bear!” Bunny replied. “What are you looking for?”
“I am looking for my flashlight,” said Little Bear. “I want to make stars with it.”
Bunny twitched her nose. “Let's look together!” she said. “I like finding things.”
They looked under the big chair. They found a lost button and three little crumbs, but no flashlight. They looked behind the curtains. They found a feather and a toy car, but no flashlight.
Little Bear felt a little worried. “Where else can we look?” he asked.
Bunny thought hard. “Maybe you took it outside?” she wondered.
Little Bear remembered. Yes! He had played in the garden yesterday, making tunnels in the soft earth. “Let's go outside!” he said.
The sun was shining. Birds sang happy songs. Little Bear and Bunny looked in the grass. They found a shiny stone and a tiny pinecone, but no flashlight.
“Let's look near the big tree,” said Bunny.
They trotted over. Squirrel was there, nibbling on a nut.
“Hello, Squirrel!” Little Bear said.
“Hello, friends!” said Squirrel with a twitch of his tail. “What are you looking for?”
“I am looking for my flashlight,” said Little Bear. “Have you seen it?”
Squirrel shook his head. “No,” he said, “but I will help you look!”
Now three friends searched together. They peeked under leaves, behind rocks, and around the tree roots. They each found something special—a yellow flower, a curled-up worm, and a fluffy seed—but no flashlight.
Little Bear's head drooped a little. “What if it is lost forever?” he whispered.
Bunny gave him a gentle hug. Squirrel patted his paw. “Don't worry, Little Bear,” Bunny said. “We are good at finding things! Let's try thinking.”
Little Bear sat and closed his eyes. He remembered yesterday. He remembered making a cave with his blanket. He remembered shining his flashlight inside the cave. But what happened next?
With a big breath, Little Bear opened his eyes. “I remember!” he said happily. “I took my blanket cave and flashlight into my play tent!”
All three friends hurried to the play tent. Little Bear crawled inside. It was dark and cozy. And there, next to his blanket cave, was his shiny flashlight!
“I found it!” Little Bear cheered. “Look, everyone! Here it is!”
Bunny and Squirrel clapped their paws. “Hooray for Little Bear!” they sang. “You remembered! You found it!”
Little Bear felt very proud. He was brave. He was smart. He had not given up.
He clicked on his flashlight. A bright beam of light shot into the tent, glowing on the walls. “Let's make stars!” he said.
Bunny cut star shapes from paper. Squirrel helped hang them around the tent. Little Bear shone the flashlight on the stars. The tent sparkled with bright, happy shapes.
All three friends snuggled close. They looked at the beautiful stars. “Your flashlight makes magic,” said Bunny.
“It makes us all feel safe and happy,” said Squirrel.
Little Bear smiled. “Thank you for helping me,” he said softly. “It's nice to look together.”
The sun went down outside, but inside the tent, there was a gentle, glowing light. Little Bear felt warm and safe. He had found his flashlight, but he had also found something else—friends to help him, and a big, open heart for every new adventure.
Soon, Little Bear yawned a sleepy yawn. Bunny cuddled up. Squirrel curled into a little ball. They listened to the quiet sounds of the night. Little Bear shone his flashlight one last time, making a tiny star on the tent roof.
“Goodnight, stars,” whispered Little Bear.
“Goodnight, friends,” said Bunny and Squirrel.
And together, wrapped in the gentle light, they drifted off to sleep, dreaming of the next bright adventure waiting for them.
