A bright blue butterfly with translucent wings hovers above the slightly ajar, chipped-red gate with wrought-iron hinges, revealing a secret garden of pink peonies, white daisies, orange tulips, green grass and golden light through a large oak. A path of small shiny pebbles leads from the gate to the girl, a line of ants adds a note of discovery. An Exciting Day

Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Lily. Lily was three years old and loved to explore. One sunny morning, she put on her red shoes, grabbed her teddy bear, and set off on a great adventure in her backyard.

Lily's backyard was a magical place. There were tall trees, colorful flowers, and a little pond. Today, Lily decided to find a secret password that would open the "Magic Gate." She was sure it would lead to a wonderful place.

The Search Begins

Lily walked to the big oak tree. She said to Teddy, "Let's look for clues here." They searched around the tree. Lily found a shiny pebble. "This must be a clue!" she exclaimed.

Lily and Teddy continued their search. They found a line of ants marching in a row. "Maybe they know the password," Lily giggled. She followed the ants, but they just carried on with their work.

Next, Lily saw a butterfly fluttering by. "Hello, Butterfly! Do you know the magic word?" she asked. The butterfly danced in the air, but it didn't say anything.

The Magic Word

Lily sat down on the soft grass and thought hard. "What could the magic word be, Teddy?" she wondered. Just then, she remembered something her mommy always said. "Please is a magic word!"

Lily jumped up with a big smile. "That's it, Teddy! The magic word is 'please'!" She ran to the garden gate and whispered, "Please, open the Magic Gate."

To her delight, the gate swung open slowly. Behind it was a secret garden filled with even more flowers and a gentle breeze. Lily and Teddy stepped inside, feeling very happy.

Home Again

After exploring the secret garden, Lily and Teddy decided it was time to go home. They walked back through the Magic Gate, which closed softly behind them.

Lily's mommy was waiting with a warm hug. "Did you have a fun adventure?" she asked. Lily nodded, "Yes, Mommy! We found the magic word, and it was 'please'!"

"That's a very special word," her mommy said with a smile. "And you had a wonderful adventure."

Lily felt proud and happy. She knew that exploring was always fun, and being polite was the best magic of all. As the sun began to set, Lily and Teddy snuggled up for a cozy nap, dreaming of more adventures to come.
