Chapter 1: Sunny's Colorful Home
Sunny was a small, bright-yellow parrot with shiny green wings. He lived in a cozy house with his family. Sunny was born with a crooked little leg. Because of his leg, Sunny could not hop or fly as high as other parrots. But Sunny was full of joy. He loved to sing happy songs, and he chirped every morning, “Good day, world! Good day, family!”
Sunny's family loved him very much. They wanted Sunny to feel safe and happy at home. So, his family made a soft path of bright blue and red cloths on the floor. “Now, you can walk easily, Sunny!” said his big brother Max, a silly green parrot who liked to tell jokes.
Sunny flapped his wings. “Thank you, Max! Thank you, family! I like my soft, colorful path.”
His mama, a gentle grey parrot, smiled. “You are special, Sunny. We are proud of you every day.” Sunny felt warm inside when his mama said that.
The house was not only colorful—it was full of Sunny's favorite things! There were shiny bells, twisty ropes, and tasty sunflower seeds. Sunny's papa hung his swings lower so Sunny could reach them with his little leg. “Try it, Sunny,” Papa said. “Swing as high as you can!”
Sunny tried. He swung back and forth. He laughed as the swing moved. “I can do it!” he cheered. His family clapped their wings. “You can do anything, Sunny!” they said.
Sunny felt happy in his home. The soft path, the low swings, and his loving family helped him move, play, and sing every day.
Chapter 2: A Visit from Doctor Owl
One bright morning, Doctor Owl came to visit. Doctor Owl was wise and kind. He wore round glasses and carried a shiny, silver bag. Sunny's heart beat fast. He liked Doctor Owl.
Doctor Owl spoke in a soft, calm voice. “Hello, Sunny! How are you today?”
Sunny chirped, “I am happy, Doctor Owl! I have a soft path and a special swing. But sometimes, my leg hurts when I try to jump.”
Doctor Owl nodded. “It is okay to feel that way, Sunny. Everyone is different. I brought something for you.” Doctor Owl opened his shiny bag. He took out a tiny, bright-blue shoe.
Sunny's eyes grew big. “What is this?” he asked.
“This is a shoe just for you,” said Doctor Owl. “It will protect your leg. It will help you walk with less pain.”
Sunny tried on the shoe. It fit perfectly! Sunny took a few steps. “My leg feels better!” he chirped. “Thank you, Doctor Owl!”
Doctor Owl smiled. “Remember, Sunny, you are strong. You are brave. If you need help, ask your family, your friends, or me.”
Sunny's mama gave him a hug. “You are not alone, Sunny. We will always help you.”
Sunny felt safe. He knew it was good to ask for help. He knew it was good to take care of himself.
Chapter 3: The Big Singing Day
One day, Max came running. “Sunny! There will be a singing show at the big tree! Will you sing with me and the other parrots?”
Sunny looked down at his little leg. “But Max, can I go to the big tree? It is far. It is hard for me to get there.”
Max said, “We will find a way! You are a great singer, Sunny. Everyone wants to hear your song!”
Mama and Papa joined them. “Let's make a plan,” said Papa. Together, they thought and thought.
“I know!” said Mama. “We can build a wagon! You can ride in the wagon, and we will pull you to the big tree.”
Sunny's eyes sparkled. “A wagon! That's a great idea!”
Max and Papa worked all afternoon. They painted the wagon in bright colors—red, blue, green, and yellow. They put soft pillows inside, so Sunny would be comfortable. When it was ready, Sunny climbed in. “I love my wagon! Thank you, Max! Thank you, Papa!”
The next day, Sunny's family pulled him in the wagon to the big tree. The sun was shining. The grass was green. All the parrots were there. Everyone smiled and waved at Sunny.
“You look happy, Sunny!” called a friend.
“I am happy!” Sunny chirped. “Look at my new shoe and my wagon!”
Max cheered, “Let's sing together, Sunny!”
All the parrots sang. Sunny sang the loudest and the happiest. His song was full of sunshine and joy. The other parrots clapped and cheered. “Yay, Sunny! Good job, Sunny!”
Sunny felt proud. He did something new. He did something fun. He did not let his little leg stop him. He sang with his friends, and everyone was happy.
Chapter 4: Sunny's Special Day
After the show, Sunny's family had a picnic under the big tree. They ate sweet berries and crunchy seeds. Sunny's friends came to play. They wanted to try the wagon and see Sunny's blue shoe.
“You are so brave, Sunny!” said a small red parrot.
“Can you show me your shoe?” asked another parrot.
Sunny smiled. “Of course! I like my shoe. I like my wagon. I like my family and friends.”
All the parrots played together. They made up a new song about Sunny's adventures. They sang, “Sunny is strong, Sunny is bright, Sunny is special, he shines so light!”
Sunny felt loved. He was different, but everyone was different in a special way. He learned that it was okay to ask for help. He learned that his family and friends would always be there for him.
When the sun went down, Mama hugged Sunny close. “You did so well today, Sunny. We are so proud of you.”
Sunny yawned and snuggled with his family. He looked at the stars and whispered, “Thank you, family. Thank you, friends. I am happy to be me.”
And every night, Sunny remembered: he was strong, he was brave, and with a little help, he could do anything he dreamed.
