Chapter 1: Snowy Surprises
It was the last day of the year. The snow was soft and white on the ground. In the little ski village, everything sparkled. The lights were bright. The people were happy. And three best friends were getting ready for the New Year's Eve party.
The first boy was Max. Max had red mittens and a green hat. His cheeks were rosy. Max loved to giggle and make funny faces.
The second boy was Leo. Leo wore a blue scarf and shiny yellow boots. Leo liked to ask silly questions and sing songs about snowflakes.
The third boy was Sam. Sam had the fluffiest earmuffs and a jacket full of pockets. Sam was careful and liked to look out for his friends.
The three boys were five years old. They were best friends. They did everything together.
Today, they were together in Max's room, sitting by the window. They watched the snow. They talked about the party.
“Are you excited for the party?” asked Max.
“I'm so, so excited!” said Leo. “There will be music and cake!”
“I heard we get to write our New Year's resolutions,” said Sam. “That means wishes for the new year!”
Max clapped his hands. “Let's make our resolutions now! Right now!”
Leo jumped up and down. “Yes! Yes! Let's do it!”
Sam smiled. “But we have to be safe. No running with pencils!”
“Okay!” said Max and Leo together.
They all sat at the table. Max brought out three big sheets of paper and three fat pencils.
“What should I wish for?” asked Max.
Leo thought. “I wish I could ski super fast!”
Sam said, “I wish I could help my friends more.”
Max grinned. “I want to eat more chocolate cake!”
The boys laughed. They wrote down their wishes:
- Max: More chocolate cake.
- Leo: Ski super fast.
- Sam: Help my friends.
Max read them again. “Do you think these are good resolutions?”
“They're super duper!” said Leo.
“Yes,” said Sam. “But maybe we can make them even better!”
Chapter 2: The Slippery Slope
After lunch, the boys put on their winter clothes. They went outside. The village was busy with people. Everyone was getting ready for the celebration.
The boys walked to the big snowy hill. The hill was perfect for sledding and skiing. There were colorful flags and shiny lights hanging everywhere.
“Let's go sledding!” shouted Max.
“Yes!” said Leo. “But remember, be careful!”
Sam nodded. “No standing on the sled. Always hold tight!”
They all agreed. Safety first.
They took turns going down the hill. Max went first. He zoomed down. He laughed so much that he almost fell off, but he held on tight.
Leo went next. He tried to go super fast, just like he wished. His scarf flew behind him. He laughed and waved at everyone.
Sam went last. He was careful. He made sure his friends were safe at the bottom. When he finished, he cheered.
After a while, Leo said, “Let's try skiing!”
So they grabbed their little skis. They lined up at the top.
Max was a little nervous. “What if I fall?”
Sam smiled. “It's okay to fall. We just get up again.”
Leo added, “We help each other.”
Max took a deep breath. “Okay. Ready, set, go!”
They skied down together. Max wobbled. Leo zigzagged. Sam went slow and steady.
At the bottom, Max fell in the snow. POOF! Snow flew everywhere.
Leo helped him up. “You did great, Max!”
Max laughed. “Thanks! I like falling in the snow. It's soft and cold!”
Sam brushed snow off Max's hat. “We're all safe. That's what matters!”
The boys smiled. They felt proud.
Chapter 3: New Year's Wishes
As the sun began to set, the village glowed with golden lights. Music played in the air. Families gathered in the big lodge, ready for the party.
The boys walked inside. It was warm and cozy. There was a long table with cakes, cookies, and hot chocolate.
“Look at all the food!” Max's eyes went wide.
Leo twirled. “Look at the decorations! There are shiny stars everywhere!”
Sam tugged on Max's sleeve. “Let's show our resolutions to our families!”
So they found their parents. They showed them the big pieces of paper.
Max's mom smiled. “More chocolate cake? That's a sweet wish!”
Leo's dad laughed. “You want to ski super fast? Maybe you can teach me!”
Sam's grandma hugged him. “You want to help your friends? That is a wonderful wish!”
The music played louder. Everyone clapped and cheered.
Suddenly, the countdown started.
“Ten! Nine! Eight!” everyone shouted.
The boys held hands. They were excited.
“Seven! Six! Five!”
Max whispered, “Do you think our wishes will come true?”
Leo nodded. “If we try our best!”
Sam smiled. “And help each other!”
“Four! Three! Two! One!”
“Happy New Year!” everyone cheered.
Confetti flew in the air. People hugged and laughed. The boys jumped up and down. They felt so happy.
Chapter 4: A New Beginning
The next morning, the boys woke up early. The sun shone on the snowy trees. Everything felt new and special.
They met outside, still in their pajamas.
Max had a big smile. “I had two pieces of chocolate cake last night!”
Leo giggled. “I tried to ski super fast—and I fell! But it was funny!”
Sam said, “I helped Leo up. And I helped Max find his hat when he lost it.”
The boys laughed. They remembered all the fun.
Max said, “I think our resolutions are working!”
Leo nodded. “But maybe we can add more wishes.”
Sam agreed. “Let's make a new list. Every day, we can try something new. And we can help each other. And we can always be safe.”
Max clapped. “Yes! And more chocolate cake!”
The boys made a new list together. It was simple and kind.
- Try new things.
- Help friends.
- Be safe.
- Have fun.
- Eat cake (sometimes).
They all signed their names in big letters.
The snow kept falling outside. But inside, the boys were warm and happy. They knew that the new year would be filled with fun, laughter, and friendship.
And every day, they would try to make their wishes come true, together.
