Soft clouds float in the purple morning sky. The world is warm and green. In a quiet valley lives a little Velociraptor named Pip. Pip has bright eyes and small, clever claws. Every morning, Pip wakes up with a big yawn and stretches his blue-green tail. Today, the air feels special. There is a gentle breeze. The leaves dance, and the flowers wave hello.
Pip's family is ready to go. It is time for the Great Migration! Every year, all the velociraptors follow the river to a new home. The sun gets too hot here, so the dinosaurs travel together to a cool, shady forest far away. Pip feels excited and a little bit wiggly inside. He wonders what the journey will be like.
His mother smiles and says, “Come along, Pip. Stay close. We will have a wonderful adventure.”
Pip wiggles his tail and nods. He runs to join his family. His friends are there too—Bina, the gentle triceratops, and Lumo, the giggly stegosaurus. They wave their tails. They all walk together, step by step, following the winding river.
The path is soft with moss. Pip hears birds singing. Sometimes a butterfly lands on his nose. Pip laughs. “Hello, little butterfly!” he says. The butterfly flutters up, swirling like a tiny, golden dancer.
The dinosaurs walk and walk. The sun rises high, painting the trees with golden light. The river sparkles, and the tallest ferns sway. Pip's legs get a little tired.
“Are we there yet?” Pip asks his mother.
“Not yet, little one,” she says, brushing her nose on his head. “But look—see how strong you are! You are walking so well.”
Pip smiles. He takes a deep breath. He feels brave and proud.
A little farther down the path, a steep hill rises. The little dinosaurs look up at it. The hill is big! Pip's heart bumps just a little. He wonders if he can climb all the way.
Bina the triceratops says softly, “Let's help each other.”
Lumo the stegosaurus nods. “We can do it together!”
They start to climb. Pip's feet slip a bit, but Bina gently pushes from behind. Lumo laughs and says, “You can do it, Pip!” Pip climbs and climbs, his claws gripping the earth. At the very top, they look out. The world is wide and beautiful. There are pink flowers and tall trees. The river shines far below.
“We did it!” Pip shouts. The other dinosaurs cheer. Pip feels warm and happy inside.
Down the hill, the dinosaurs find a shady place to rest. A soft breeze blows. Pip snuggles close to his mother. She hums a sweet song, and Pip's eyes grow sleepy. His friends rest near him. Some dinosaurs snack on leaves and berries. Pip feels safe and cozy, surrounded by friends.
After a little nap, the dinosaurs get up and walk again. The path is cool and shady now. Big, leafy trees arch over them. Suddenly, Pip hears a funny sound. “Splish, splash, splosh!” It is the river, bubbling over some smooth stones.
Pip runs ahead, his tail high in the air. He dips his toes in the cool water. “Come on, everyone!” he calls. Soon, all the dinosaurs are splashing and laughing in the river. Water shimmers on their scales. Pip feels free and light, like a bird in the breeze.
The sky turns orange and pink. The sun sinks low. It is almost night. The dinosaurs see the new forest in the distance. The trees are tall and green. The air is fresh and sweet.
Pip's mother stops and says, “We are almost there. Just a little farther.”
Pip's heart leaps. His legs are tired, but he wants to see their new home. All the dinosaurs walk together. They sing a happy song.
When they reach the forest, the air is cool and gentle. The ground is soft and safe. Birds sing softly above. Fireflies blink in the grass like tiny stars. Pip's family circles together in a cozy nest of leaves. Bina snuggles close. Lumo yawns a big, happy yawn.
Pip feels sleepy, but his heart is full of wonder. He remembers climbing the hill, splashing in the river, and walking with friends. He knows he is strong and brave, and he can do anything with a little help.
His mother whispers, “Goodnight, Pip. You did so well.”
Pip smiles and snuggles close. The stars twinkle above. The forest is quiet and safe. Pip dreams of new adventures, surrounded by friends and family. The Great Migration is over, and Pip is home.
