A smiling, kind female police officer with a brown ponytail, light-blue uniform and small round yellow badge kneels to hand back a shiny red bicycle, while a little girl (about 5) with blonde pigtails in a pink polka-dot dress clutches the bike and jumps for joy beside her; an elderly grandfather (about 70) with gray hair, round glasses and a beige jacket holds the handlebars near a light wooden bench and smiles gently, and a father (about 35) in a green t-shirt waves from a paved path in the background; a sunny small park with a soft green lawn, round-foliage tree, colorful flowers, simple lamppost and white-patterned crosswalk; soft morning light, pastel palette (sky blue, pink, mint, pale yellow); composition centered on the bike handover, characters close together, round faces with exaggeratedly kind expressions, crisp outlines and simple shapes; minimal kawaii style, clean background, flat textures and very light shading. report a problem with this image

Maya put on her blue police hat. She was a young police officer. She smiled and checked her radio. It was quiet outside.

She walked to the park. A little boy and his dad waved. “Hi, Officer Maya,” said the dad.

“Hi,” said Maya. “I help people. I keep us safe.”

Near the path, a small bike lay on the grass. A girl looked sad. “My bike is lost,” she said.

Maya knelt down. “Let's look,” she said. “What color is it?”

“Red,” said the girl.

Maya looked left, then right. She spoke soft and slow. “We stay on the path. We use our eyes.”

She saw a red bike by the bench. A grandpa held it. “I found it,” he said. “I did not know whose.”

“Thank you,” said Maya. She gave the bike back. The girl hugged it. “Yay!”

Maya helped them cross the street at the crosswalk. “We wait. We look. We hold hands,” she said.

At home, Maya drank warm tea and wrote a short note: “All is well.”

Moral: A kind police officer helps, listens, and keeps everyone safe.
