A smiling, gentle policewoman in a light-blue coat and matching cap kneels and reaches toward a small beige fluffy puppy while a six-year-old boy with short brown hair in a yellow t-shirt hugs the puppy outside his house, relieved and happy; the puppy wags its tail with its tongue out against the officer’s hand; in the background a female colleague holds a school crossing sign on the right sidewalk; the colorful neighborhood has pastel houses, gray sidewalks, an open small red door and potted flowers; the main scene shows the officer returning the puppy to the boy in a warm, reassuring moment with clean details, simple shapes, soft contrasts and paper-cut edges. report a problem with this image

Maya is a police woman. She wears a blue coat. She has a kind smile. She walks slow. She says "hello" to kids. Toc-toc goes her small bell.

One day Maya sees a lost pup. The pup is soft and small. Maya kneels. She says "shh, it is ok." The pup wags. Hop, hop, the pup runs to her hand. Maya calls the pup's home. She finds the pup's tag. She rings the door. Knock, knock. A child opens. The child hugs the pup. "Thank you," the child says.

Maya helps with a little road. She holds a sign. Cars stop. Beep-beep. Children cross safe. Maya smiles and waves. She shows how to look left and right. She shows how to hold a hand. She says "wait" and "go" with a soft voice.

Maya talks to a friend who is sad. She sits and listens. She brings water and a warm coat. She helps find a snack. All feel calm. Plouf, a small puddle splashes by her boot.

Maya is calm, kind, and helps all day.
