Once upon a gentle morning, Little Wolf woke up in his soft, warm den. Sunlight tiptoed through the trees, painting golden shapes on his fur. Today, the forest was singing. Leaves whispered. Flowers nodded. Little Wolf's heart felt as light as a feather.
Little Wolf stretched his paws. He wondered, “What will I say yes to today?” His tail wagged. He liked to say yes, but only for good reasons. He remembered what Mama Wolf said, “A true yes is like a shiny pebble you find and keep in your pocket.”
Little Wolf sniffed the cool air and padded outside. The grass tickled his feet. He saw Squirrel, busy with an acorn.
“Will you race me, Little Wolf?” Squirrel asked, hopping in a zigzag.
Little Wolf thought. He was still sleepy. He smiled. “Not now, Squirrel. My legs are slow this morning.” Squirrel laughed and skipped away.
Little Wolf wandered on, nose close to the ground. He found Rabbit behind a bush, tying wildflowers into a chain.
“Will you help me, Little Wolf?” Rabbit asked, holding out the flowers.
Little Wolf saw the soft pink petals. He nodded. “Yes, Rabbit,” he said. He sat down and, with careful paws, helped tie the flowers. The chain grew longer and longer, like a rainbow in their hands. They laughed together, making the air sparkle.
A butterfly landed on Little Wolf's nose. It was blue as the sky. “Will you chase me?” the butterfly whispered.
Little Wolf watched it flutter. He wanted to, but he remembered Mama Wolf's words: “Choose your yes like you choose a friend.”
He shook his head kindly. “No, butterfly. I like watching you dance.” The butterfly twirled and flew away.
Little Wolf felt happy. His heart was warm, like sunshine in a soft blanket.
Next, he met Bear Cub by the river. Bear Cub was splashing water everywhere.
“Will you splash with me, Little Wolf?” Bear Cub grinned.
Little Wolf saw the cool water and the wiggly fish. He thought, “Do I want to splash? Will it make me glad?” He nodded. “Yes, Bear Cub!” Soon, water sparkled in the air and laughter rippled like the river.
The sun climbed high. Little Wolf grew tired. He walked back to his den. Mama Wolf was waiting, her eyes gentle as the moon.
She asked, “Did you say yes today, Little Wolf?”
“Yes, Mama,” he said. “I said yes to Rabbit and Bear Cub. I said no to Squirrel and Butterfly. My yes and no felt right in my heart.”
Mama Wolf hugged him close. “That is wise, my little wolf. A yes from the heart is as bright as the stars.”
Little Wolf snuggled in his den. “Goodnight, yes. Goodnight, no,” he whispered. The trees hummed a lullaby. The world was peaceful and kind.
As Little Wolf closed his eyes, he knew: saying yes is a gift you give with care. And when you listen to your heart, every yes and every no is just right.
And so, under a velvet sky, Little Wolf drifted into dreams, his heart full of gentle yeses, shining like treasures in the night.
