Little Wolf woke up in his cozy den. The morning light made warm stripes on the floor. On the table sat a shiny red lunch box and a tiny notebook.
Today was a big adventure. Little Wolf wanted to bring berry muffins to Grandma Fox. Grandma lived just across the meadow, near the blue mailbox.
Mama Wolf tied a small scarf around his neck. “Be kind, be careful, and be brave,” she said.
“I will,” said Little Wolf. He puffed up his chest. Then he looked at the round kitchen clock.
Mama pointed. “Grandma likes her tea at ten o'clock. Can you remember the time?”
Little Wolf's ears wiggled. Ten o'clock felt like a slippery fish. So he opened his notebook and drew a big circle. He drew two hands on it. One hand pointed up. One hand pointed to the ten.
“Ten o'clock!” he said. “I wrote it!”
He stepped outside. The path was sunny and soft. A ladybug rode on his shoe for a moment. “Hello, tiny traveler,” Little Wolf giggled.
Soon he met Bunny by a puddle. Bunny looked sad. A little paper boat was stuck in the mud.
“I can't reach it,” Bunny whispered.
Little Wolf thought. He saw a long, bendy reed. “We can do it,” he said. He laid his scarf on the ground so Bunny's feet stayed dry. Then he used the reed like a gentle hook. Lift, lift… plop! The boat floated free.
“Thank you!” said Bunny.
Little Wolf shared one warm muffin. “For you,” he said. Bunny's nose twitched with joy.
They walked together. At the bridge, the wind tried to flip Little Wolf's notebook pages. “Whoosh!” said the wind.
Little Wolf laughed and held the notebook tight. “Not today, silly wind.”
On the other side, Bunny pointed at a tall sunflower. “Is it time?”
Little Wolf opened his notebook. He checked his drawing. He looked up at the sun, then at a town clock on a store wall. The hands matched.
“It's ten o'clock!” he said.
Grandma Fox opened her door. “Right on time,” she smiled. “And you brought a friend.”
Little Wolf placed the muffins on her table. “And I brought kindness,” he said.
Grandma poured tea. Bunny sailed the paper boat in a bowl of water. Everyone smiled, warm and safe, as the day hummed softly on.
