Part One: The Big Train Ride
Lily is three years old. Today, Lily is going on a big adventure. She is going to visit Grandma in the countryside. Daddy says, “We will take the train today.”
Lily puts on her tiny blue shoes. She brings her favorite bear, Mr. Brown. At the station, Lily sees a shiny, long train. She hears a loud, friendly “Choo-choo!” and laughs.
She holds Daddy's hand. They climb into the train. The train is big and bright. The seats are soft and red. The window is wide. Lily can see lots and lots of trees.
The train starts to move. It goes slowly, “Clack-clack, clack-clack.” Lily smiles and looks out. She sees cows and sheep in the fields. She points and says, “Look, Daddy! Moo!” Daddy smiles, “Yes, Lily, that's a cow.”
“Where is the train going?” Lily asks.
Daddy answers, “To Grandma's house! We will see her soon.”
Part Two: The Train Game
A little boy sits across from Lily. He is about Lily's age. He has curly hair and a toy car. The boy smiles and says, “Hello!”
Lily smiles back and shows her bear. “This is Mr. Brown,” she says.
The boy says, “My name is Sam. Do you want to play a game?”
Lily nods. Daddy helps. “Let's play the ‘I Spy' game,” Daddy suggests. “We look out the window and say, ‘I spy with my little eye something…' and then say the color. Then, the other person guesses.”
Sam says, “I spy with my little eye something green!” Lily looks. There is grass, trees, and a green tractor. She guesses, “Tree?”
Sam laughs. “Yes! It's a tree!”
Now it's Lily's turn. She says, “I spy with my little eye something white!” Sam looks. He points, “Sheep?”
Lily claps, “Yes!” They both giggle.
Daddy joins too. They all play together. Sometimes they guess fast. Sometimes they need help. They say “Good job!” and “Well done!” to each other. If someone feels a little sad for not guessing, Daddy says, “It's okay, we all play together.” Lily and Sam feel happy.
The train goes over a little bridge. They see a river, blue and shiny. Everyone says, “Ooooh!”
Part Three: Arriving and Resting
Soon, the train slows down. Daddy says, “We are almost there!” Lily feels excited and a little sleepy. She hugs Mr. Brown.
The train stops. Lily and Daddy say goodbye to Sam and his mom. “Bye-bye! Have a good trip!”
Outside, Grandma waits with open arms. Lily runs and hugs her. “Grandma!”
“I am so happy to see you, Lily!” Grandma says.
Lily tells Grandma about the train, the game, and her new friend Sam. Grandma smiles, “You had a wonderful adventure.”
Lily feels warm and sleepy. Her eyes close a little. Daddy lifts her up. Grandma says, “You did great, Lily. You shared, you played, and you helped your friend.”
As they walk to Grandma's house, Lily yawns. Her heart feels big and happy. She is tired but smiles. She thinks about all the new things she saw and the friends she made.
Lily learns that traveling is fun. She can share, play, and discover new things. With family and friends, every trip is a gentle adventure. Now, she is ready for a cozy rest, safe and happy at Grandma's home.
