Into the Sea
Lila was four. She wore a small blue hat. She loved the sea. One morning, she stepped in on soft sand. The tide sang a happy song. Lila held her friend Mina's hand. Mina was a little crab with bright eyes. "Let's go," Lila said. "Let's go," Mina clicked.
They walked into the water. The water was warm. It hugged their toes. Little fish swam around like silver ribbons. Lights glowed below. Lila saw tiny stars under the water. She smiled. She felt brave.
The Shining Grove
Deeper in, the sea grew soft and blue. Coral gardens shone like lanterns. Jelly-flowers drifted slowly, gentle and round. Lila reached out. A glowing shell opened. Inside a pearl winked. "Hello," the pearl seemed to say. Lila and Mina waved.
A small seahorse peeked from a leaf. He looked lost. "I can't find my bed," he whispered. Lila knelt. She took his fin. "We will help," she said. Together, they followed a glowing trail. Little fish made a path. A friendly turtle guided them. Lila used her eyes and her heart. She noticed the smallest light. She found the seahorse's coral nook. The seahorse smiled. "Thank you," he said.
They swam on. A gentle current tugged at them. The current wanted to play. It pushed and pulled their hands. Lila felt surprised. Mina clicked and held tighter. Lila held Mina's claw with both hands. "Hold my hand," she said. "Hold my hand," Mina clicked back. They held on together. The current danced. It led them to a secret cave. Inside, the walls shone with tiny fish like stars. The cave hummed a soft tune. Lila felt calm. She felt proud.
Home and Hand
When the sun leaned down, Lila and friends floated back. They sang softly. The shore welcomed them with warm sand. Lila let go and hugged Mina. "We were brave," she said. The seahorse waved. The pearl winked again.
Lila walked home. She kept a small shell in her pocket. At night, she put it by her bed. She remembered the lights, the songs, and holding hands in the current. She fell asleep with a smile. The sea was near and kind. She knew she could be brave and help others, always.
