Getting Ready for the Sky

Captain Tom wakes up early. He stretches and smiles. “Today is a flying day,” he says. Captain Tom is a pilot. He flies a big airplane in the sky.

Captain Tom puts on his blue uniform. He checks his hat. He checks his shiny shoes. He eats his breakfast and drinks orange juice. “I am ready!” says Captain Tom.

At the airport, Captain Tom meets his team. There is Mia, the co-pilot. There is Lee, the flight engineer. There are kind flight attendants, Sam and Lila. Everyone smiles and waves. “Good morning, team!” says Captain Tom. “Let's get ready to fly!”

Captain Tom and his team walk to the airplane. The airplane is white with blue wings. It is very big. Captain Tom pats the side. “Hello, airplane. Are you ready?” he asks.

Captain Tom sits in the cockpit. There are many buttons and screens. Mia sits beside him. “Let's check everything,” Captain Tom says. He and Mia look at the checklist. They check the fuel. They check the weather. They check the doors and windows. Everything is safe and ready.

“Teamwork is important,” says Captain Tom. “We all help each other.” Mia nods and smiles.

Up in the Clouds

Captain Tom talks to the flight attendants. “It is almost time. Please help everyone find their seats,” he says. Sam and Lila help children with their seatbelts. They help grandmas with their bags. Everyone feels safe and happy.

Captain Tom talks to the passengers. “Hello, everyone,” he says through his microphone. “I am Captain Tom, your pilot today. Soon, we will fly in the sky. When we arrive, it will be sunny and warm—twenty degrees! Please stay in your seats and have a nice flight.”

Mia helps Captain Tom drive the plane to the runway. The airplane goes faster, faster, faster… up, up, up! The airplane lifts off the ground and soars into the blue sky.

Captain Tom looks out the window. He sees clouds like fluffy pillows. He sees tiny cars far below. “The sky is beautiful,” he says. Mia smiles. “We are flying!”

Captain Tom checks his buttons and screens. He talks to the tower on his radio. He listens to the weather. Everything is calm and safe.

Sam and Lila give out drinks and snacks. Everyone is comfortable. Captain Tom reminds his team, “We work together to take care of everyone.”

Landing and Goodnight

After a smooth flight, Captain Tom talks to everyone again. “We are almost there. Please get ready to land.” He checks the wheels. Mia helps him look at the screens.

The airplane lands gently on the runway. Captain Tom smiles. “We did it, team!” Mia, Lee, Sam, and Lila cheer. The passengers clap. Everyone is happy.

Captain Tom stands by the airplane door. He waves goodbye. “Thank you for flying with us!” he says. The passengers say thank you too.

Outside, the airplane is ready for a rest. Captain Tom looks at his team. “Good teamwork today,” he says. The team smiles. They feel proud.

The airplane glides slowly away on the runway, shining in the sunset. The sky is calm, and the work is done. Captain Tom and his team get ready for a good night's sleep, dreaming of clouds and blue skies.
