A joyful scene of a confident 4-year-old girl with light brown pigtails and bright eyes riding her red electric wheelchair "Zoomy" up a small grassy hill in a yellow polka-dot dress; beside her a round-faced, cheerful ~4-year-old boy (Max) with short brown hair and a visible white hearing aid runs and applauds admiringly, while a shy but laughing ~4-year-old girl (Ava) with a black braid in a turquoise dress jumps and claps a few steps behind; Miss Anna, the warm-smiling teacher in her thirties with tied blond hair, stands at the top of the hill with hands raised, wearing beige trousers and a blue cardigan, in a sunny playground bordered by colorful flowers, a light blue sky with soft clouds, a gravel path, benches and children's drawings on a painted fence—bright colors, rounded expressive features evoking a 1990s cartoon. report a problem with this image

A New Friend at the Group

Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Lily. Lily was four years old. She was very brave and kind. Lily had a special chair with wheels. She used her chair to move around because her legs were not strong. Lily loved her chair. She called it "Zoomy."

Every day, Lily went to a special group with other children. They all had different special needs. They played together and learned new things. Lily liked her group very much. Her best friend at the group was a boy named Max. Max used a hearing aid to help him hear better.

One sunny morning, Lily and her mom went to the group. "Good morning, Lily!" said Max, waving his hand.

"Good morning, Max!" said Lily, smiling big.

The teacher, Miss Anna, clapped her hands and said, "Today, we have a new friend joining us. Her name is Ava."

Lily clapped her hands, too. She was excited to meet Ava. Ava was a little shy but had a big, happy smile.

Learning Together

In the group, they played a game called "Pass the Sound." Each child made a sound, and the next child copied it. It was Ava's turn. She tapped her foot on the ground. Lily listened carefully and tapped her foot, too.

"Great job, Lily!" said Miss Anna.

Ava smiled and said, "I like playing with you."

Lily smiled back. "Thank you, Ava. I like playing with you, too!"

Later, they sat in a circle. Miss Anna showed them colorful cards. Each card had a picture. There was a bike, a flower, and a rainbow. Lily loved the rainbow.

"Lily, you can pick a card," said Miss Anna.

Lily picked the rainbow card. "This is a rainbow," she giggled.

Ava clapped her hands. "I love rainbows!"

Max nodded and said, "Rainbows are fun."

Lily felt happy with her friends. They all liked different things, but they liked being together.

Our Special Day

After lunch, they went outside to play. Lily was in her Zoomy, rolling fast. Max was running beside her. Ava skipped along, laughing.

Lily saw a small hill. "Look, a hill!" she said to Max.

"Can you go up?" Max asked.

"Yes, I can!" said Lily. She pushed the button on her Zoomy. The chair moved up the hill slowly. Max and Ava cheered.

"You did it, Lily!" Ava said with a big smile.

"Yes, Zoomy helps me," Lily said proudly.

Then, Miss Anna called them. "Time to come in!"

Inside, they sat in a circle again. Miss Anna talked about the special day they had. "You all helped each other and learned so much."

Lily felt warm inside. She looked at Ava and Max. "I like our group. We are good friends," she said.

"Yes, we are," said Max.

Ava nodded and said, "We help each other."

Lily thought about her Zoomy, Max's hearing aid, and Ava's kind smile. She knew they all had special things that helped them. And that made them all special, too.

That night, Lily went to bed happy. She dreamed of rainbows and friends, knowing her day was full of joy and learning.
