A delighted 4-year-old boy with messy brown hair and dirt on his knees holds a small yellow watering can, pouring water on a packet of seeds while his smiling, kind mother kneels beside him with her hair in a bun and a floral blouse, pointing where to dig with a small wooden trowel; tulip and sunflower bulbs and green shoots emerge from dark soil with a few pink and yellow blooms open, set in a bright spring garden with a green lawn, light stone path, blue sky with fluffy clouds and birds on a white wooden fence, the scene in vivid colors with thick acrylic texture and soft morning light. report a problem with this image

The Garden Adventure

One sunny morning, little Tom woke up with a big smile. "Spring is here!" he said, jumping out of bed. Today was a special day because Tom was going to help his mom in the garden.

"Good morning, Tom," said his mom, as she poured him a bowl of cereal. "Are you ready to plant some flowers today?"

"Yes, yes!" Tom clapped his hands. He loved the bright colors and the sweet smells of the garden.

They put on their boots and hats and headed outside. The garden was full of sunshine and little birds singing.

Tom's mom had a basket with seeds and bulbs. "These are seeds for sunflowers, and these are bulbs for tulips," she explained. "We need to plant them and give them lots of love and water."

Tom nodded, his big eyes full of curiosity. "Can I help plant the seeds?" he asked excitedly.

"Of course, you can!" his mom replied, handing him a tiny shovel.

Planting with Care

Tom carefully dug a small hole in the soil. Then, he took a few sunflower seeds from the basket and placed them in the hole. He gently covered them with soil, just like his mom showed him.

"Now, we water them," said his mom, handing Tom a small watering can.

Tom poured water over the seeds, watching the soil turn dark and rich. "Will they grow fast?" he asked, looking up at his mom.

"They will grow slowly, little by little," his mom explained. "With sunshine, water, and care, they will become tall and beautiful."

Tom watched as his mom planted the tulip bulbs. "Tulips are like little surprises," she said. "They sleep underground and then, when spring comes, they wake up and bloom into pretty flowers."

Tom giggled, imagining tulips waking up from a long nap.

Spring at School

The next day at school, Tom was excited to share his garden story. His teacher, Miss Lily, was talking about spring too.

"Spring is a wonderful time," she said. "It's when everything in nature wakes up and grows. Flowers bloom, and trees get new leaves."

Tom raised his hand. "I planted sunflowers and tulips with my mom!" he announced proudly.

"That's wonderful, Tom!" Miss Lily said with a warm smile. "Does anyone else want to share what they love about spring?"

Lucy, Tom's friend, said, "I love the rainbows after the rain."

"And I love playing in the park," added Ben, another friend.

Miss Lily nodded. "Spring is special because it's full of colors and new life. Let's all make a picture of our favorite spring things."

Tom picked up his crayons and started drawing his garden. He colored the sunflowers big and tall, with bright yellow petals. The tulips were pink and red, standing proudly in the sunshine.

When Tom got home, he ran to his mom. "Look, Mom! I drew our garden!" he said, showing his picture.

"It's beautiful, Tom," his mom said, giving him a hug. "Spring is such a lovely time, and you helped make it even more special."

Every morning after that, Tom checked on his little garden, waiting for the day when the sunflowers and tulips would peek through the soil. And when they did, he felt proud, knowing he had helped them grow.

Spring, with all its wonders, was now Tom's favorite season, full of discoveries and joy.
