"We have a special treat for you," her mom said, placing a plate of fluffy pancakes on the table. "Blueberry pancakes, your favorite!"
Sophie's eyes widened with delight as she took a seat at the table. She loved blueberry pancakes, especially when her mom made them. As she savored each bite, she couldn't help but think about the exciting day ahead.
After breakfast, Sophie's mom packed her a lunchbox filled with her favorite sandwich, fruit, and a little note that said, "Have a great day, my little superstar!"
Sophie hugged her mom tightly before heading out the door to catch the school bus. As she stepped onto the bus, she waved goodbye and found an empty seat near the back. She loved her school, where she had made lots of friends and had an amazing teacher, Miss Johnson.

As Sophie entered the classroom, she noticed a new face sitting at an empty desk. It was a girl with curly hair and glasses, who looked a bit shy. Sophie's heart went out to her, knowing how it felt to be new.
"Hi, I'm Sophie," she said, approaching the girl with a friendly smile. "What's your name?"
The girl looked up, surprised by the warm welcome. "I'm Emma," she replied softly.

During recess, Sophie noticed Emma looking sad. She sat down beside her and asked, "What's wrong, Emma?"
Emma sighed. "I have to go to the hospital later today. I've been feeling sick recently, and the doctors want to check on me."
