Part 1: The Pebble Path
On the morning of Easter, the sun peeked through the clouds, painting the garden with warm, golden light. Four friends gathered at the big oak tree, their cheeks pink with excitement. There was Emma, who always looked for hidden wonders; Lily, who loved to laugh; Zoey, who was gentle and careful; and Mia, who liked to do things just right.
Mia, especially, was very careful. She carried a small blue pouch full of round, shiny pebbles. She used these pebbles to mark the ground, so she would never forget the way back home. Today was the day of the Easter egg hunt, and Mia was ready.
The girls giggled as they listened to the birds sing. The air was sweet with the scent of spring flowers. Everyone wore their brightest clothes—yellow, pink, green, and blue. They all had baskets, hoping to fill them with chocolate eggs.
“Are you ready?” Emma asked, her eyes twinkling.
“I think I smell chocolate,” giggled Lily, sniffing the air.
“I brought my pebbles,” Mia whispered, showing her friends the pouch.
Together, they tiptoed across the grass. Mia gently placed one pebble at the start of the path, right under the old oak tree. “So we don't get lost,” she said. The girls nodded, understanding.
Suddenly, a small white rabbit hopped out from behind a bush. It had a ribbon around its neck and a twinkle in its eye. The girls gasped in wonder. The rabbit paused, wiggled its nose, and then dashed off, leaving behind a trail of tiny, shimmering eggs.
“Let's follow!” Zoey said. So off they went, giggling and running after the magical bunny, Mia dropping pebbles behind her as they went.
Part 2: The Rainbow Meadow
The girls followed the trail through the garden gate and into the rainbow meadow. The grass was soft, sprinkled with daisies and dandelions. The sun seemed to dance on every petal. There were eggs everywhere—red, green, and gold—and they sparkled under the light.
Lily spotted a blue egg hidden beneath a leaf. “Look!” she called, picking it up and showing it to the others.
Emma found a pink egg shaped like a heart. “For you, Zoey,” she said, handing it over.
Zoey smiled and gave Emma a purple egg in return. “Sharing eggs is the best part,” she said.
Mia found a golden egg behind a stone. She placed a pebble next to it, so she could remember the spot. “Maybe we will find our way back here later,” she said with a smile.
The white rabbit hopped in circles around them, always just a little too quick to catch. Each time the girls spotted a new egg, the rabbit seemed to laugh and jump away, leading them to the next surprise.
Suddenly, a gentle wind blew, and the girls heard a soft chime. The rabbit paused and looked up. For a moment, everything felt magical, as if the meadow was full of secret friends watching and cheering.
Part 3: The Hidden Door
The girls collected more eggs, sharing and trading as they went. Mia kept dropping pebbles, one by one, making a path that glittered behind them.
At the far end of the meadow, they found something special—a wooden door standing all alone, covered in ivy and tiny white flowers. The rabbit sat beside it, waiting.
“Do you think we should go in?” Emma asked, feeling a little shiver of excitement.
Lily peeked through the door's keyhole. “I see colors, like a rainbow inside!”
Zoey took Mia's hand. “If we stick together, we'll be just fine.”
Mia placed a pebble at the foot of the door. “Let's go,” she said.
The door creaked open slowly, and the four friends stepped inside. Inside was a small, cozy room filled with twinkling lights and baskets of chocolate eggs. There was a table set with sweet juice and soft cakes, all ready for them.
The white rabbit hopped in behind them and closed the door gently. The girls laughed with delight. They sat together, sharing their eggs and telling stories. The room felt warm and safe, full of joy and friendship.
Part 4: The Gentle Goodbye
After a while, the girls knew it was time to go home. Mia looked at her pouch—just one pebble left. She smiled, knowing she could follow her path back.
They hugged the rabbit, who gave them each a soft, magical feather to remember the adventure. The girls linked hands, stepping outside into the sunny meadow, following the shiny pebbles Mia had dropped.
As they reached the big oak tree in the garden, they turned to see the little wooden door. The rabbit waved a tiny paw, and then closed the door softly, so softly it made only a little whisper.
The girls' baskets were full, not just with eggs, but with happiness. They smiled at each other, knowing they had shared something special.
From that day, the garden felt even brighter. And every spring, when Easter came, the four friends remembered the magical adventure—and the gentle rabbit who taught them the joy of sharing.
