The Crow with a Plan
On a bright, bouncy morning in the middle of Willow Wood, a clever crow named Cosmo sat on a sturdy branch, flapping his wings with excitement. Cosmo was famous for his wild ideas and his even wilder stories. Today, he had a new idea—he wanted to make the best obstacle course ever!
Cosmo called out with his loudest caw, “Come one, come all! The Great Willow Obstacle Race is about to begin!” Birds fluttered down, squirrels scampered over, and even a shy hedgehog peeked out from under a leaf.
But Cosmo wasn't alone. There was also Perry, the penguin. Now, Perry was not just any penguin—he was Willow Wood's only penguin and also its only photographer. Perry wore a bright red scarf, walked with a waddle, and always talked about taking pictures. The only problem? Perry never had a camera. Not even a tiny one.
“Cosmo!” Perry called, flapping his flippers. “Hold your wings! I need a photo for my collection.”
Cosmo blinked. “But Perry, you never have a camera!”
Perry puffed up. “That's not important. I have an excellent imagination!”
The wood filled with giggles. Cosmo grinned. “All right, Perry. You can take all the imaginary photos you want. But first, help me build the course!”
The Silly Obstacle Course
Cosmo and Perry worked together, but not without hiccups. Cosmo wanted a tunnel made of twigs. Perry wanted a tunnel made of pancakes.
“I don't see any pancakes in the woods, Perry!” Cosmo laughed.
“I can imagine them!” Perry replied, crawling under a fallen log and pretending syrup dripped from the sides.
Next, Cosmo built a balance beam using a wobbly branch. Perry tried to take an “action shot” of Cosmo, but he tripped, rolling right into a pile of acorns.
“Now, that's a nutty photo!” Cosmo cawed, helping Perry up.
Soon, all the animals joined in. Squirrel twins, Pip and Pop, made a jumpy bridge with old socks. Bella the bunny bounced over a row of mushrooms, giggling as they squished and squeaked.
The course was crooked. It was silly. It was absolutely perfect.
The Great Willow Race
Everyone lined up at the start. Perry stood next to Cosmo, pretending to hold a big, shiny camera.
“Ready, set, FLAP!” Cosmo shouted.
Off they went! Cosmo zoomed through the tunnel, Perry waddled behind, calling, “Smile for the camera!” even though there wasn't one.
Pip and Pop hopped across the sock bridge, but the socks slipped and they tumbled into a leaf pile. Bella the bunny did a super spin over the mushrooms, landing with a squishy plop. Cosmo tried the balance beam, but Perry shouted, “Say cheese!” and Cosmo laughed so hard he toppled over.
The race was a jumble of jumps, slips, giggles, and silly poses. Perry took “photos” with his flippers, shouting, “Perfect! Hold still! Wait, do that again!” Animals laughed so much, they could barely finish the course.
At the end, everyone was tangled up, out of breath, and smiling.
The Spectacular Show
Cosmo flapped onto a stump. “That was the funniest race ever! But I have one more idea—let's have a show with everyone's best move!”
The animals cheered. Perry waddled up, bowing to his invisible camera. “I'll be the official photographer… with the best memory in the woods!”
Each animal took a turn. Bella did her mushroom spin, Pip and Pop performed a sock dance, and Cosmo flapped in circles, cawing a silly song. Perry finished with a wobbly waddle and a super slide, ending in a heap of giggles.
Even the shy hedgehog did a tiny twirl, and everyone clapped and cheered.
Cosmo looked at his friends. “We made a course out of nothing but ideas! And Perry, you took the best pictures—right here.” Cosmo tapped his head.
Perry grinned. “The best photos are in our minds!”
As the sun set over Willow Wood, the friends laughed together, already dreaming up their next adventure. And Cosmo, with his big ideas and even bigger heart, knew that with a little imagination—and a lot of friends—anything was possible.
