The main character is a childlike little gray wolf with soft fur, big shiny round eyes and furrowed brows, wearing a small blue detective hat and holding a wooden magnifying glass, crouched by a plate of golden muffins while examining a trail of blue crumbs; Grandmother Wolf stands to the left, a warm elderly she-wolf in a floral apron with gray hair in a bun, smiling with hands on her hips in the kitchen doorway; a red fox cub with a blueberry-stained muzzle, looking guilty but shy, sits among a pile of leaves near the garden door; a bright-eyed squirrel with a bushy tail holds a hazelnut on a high shelf, curious and surprised; a small white bunny with floppy ears and a bowl of carrots stands by the table, intrigued and attentive; the setting mixes a cozy wooden rustic kitchen with jars on shelves, a low shelf holding a plate of muffins, and an open door to a sunny garden with colorful flowers, leaves and the blue-crumb trail; the scene is a simple visual "investigation" of the wolf following the crumbs from the muffins to the surprised fox, soft mood, vivid colors, strong contrasts and layered paper-cut style. report a problem with this image

Chapter 1: The Great Missing Muffin Mystery

Little Wolf woke up with a wiggle and a stretch. Sunbeams danced on his soft, grey fur. Today felt special, but he didn't know why—yet! He sniffed the air. Something delicious was baking.

He hurried to the kitchen, where Grandma Wolf was pulling golden, yummy muffins from the oven. “Good morning, Little Wolf,” she said with a warm smile. “I made your favorite: blueberry muffins!”

Little Wolf's tail wagged. “Can I have one, Grandma?”

“Of course, dear. After breakfast, you can help me pack them for the picnic, Grandma said. “But first, let's put them in the stock room to cool.”

Together, they placed the muffins on the big wooden shelf in the stock room. The stock room was cool and smelled like flour, apples, and pinecones. Little Wolf counted the muffins. “One, two, three, four, five, six,” he said. He liked counting, and he liked muffins even more.

Grandma closed the door. “We'll come back soon, Little Wolf.”

But when they returned after breakfast, something was wrong. The plate was there, but—uh oh!—one muffin was missing! Only five muffins sat on the plate.

Little Wolf's ears perked up. “Grandma! One muffin is gone!”

Grandma looked surprised. “Oh my! This is quite a mystery.

Little Wolf's eyes sparkled. “Don't worry, Grandma. I'll solve the case! I'll be Detective Wolf!” He thought for a moment and took a crayon from his pocket. He drew a little paw mark on the door. “This is my detective mark,” he said. “So I remember where the mystery began.”

Chapter 2: Clues and Paw Prints

Detective Wolf looked around the stock room. He sniffed the air. He checked under the shelf. He even peeked behind some dusty jars. But there was no muffin.

He thought, “What would a clever detective do?” He remembered to look for clues.

Suddenly, he saw something on the floor—a tiny crumb! And another! A trail of blue crumbs led to the door. Detective Wolf followed the crumbs out of the stock room, his nose twitching.

In the hallway, he met his friend, Squirrel. Squirrel was nibbling a nut and looking very happy.

“Hello, Squirrel! Did you see anyone come from the stock room?” Detective Wolf asked.

Squirrel shook his head. “No, but I heard giggles in the kitchen!”

Detective Wolf thanked Squirrel and hurried to the kitchen. There, he found Bunny, who was licking her paws.

“Hello, Bunny! Did you take a muffin from the stock room?” Detective Wolf asked kindly.

Bunny's ears drooped. “No, Detective Wolf. I only came for a carrot. But I saw someone with a bushy tail sneak by!”

Detective Wolf thought hard. Who had a bushy tail? He did, but he had been with Grandma. Squirrel had a bushy tail, but he was eating a nut. Who else could it be?

Detective Wolf checked the trail of blue crumbs. They led to the back door and out into the garden.

Chapter 3: The Garden Chase

Detective Wolf tiptoed into the garden. The sun was shining, and butterflies fluttered over colorful flowers. He looked at the ground—there! More blue crumbs!

He followed the trail past the tomatoes, under the big oak tree, and to a pile of leaves. Suddenly, something small and fluffy popped out. It was Fox Cub, with blueberry all over his nose!

Fox Cub looked surprised. “Oh! Hello, Detective Wolf.”

Detective Wolf smiled. “Fox Cub, did you take a muffin from the stock room?”

Fox Cub's eyes grew wide. “I'm sorry, Detective Wolf! I was so hungry, and the muffins smelled so good. I only meant to look, but… I couldn't help myself.”

Detective Wolf thought about how he sometimes felt hungry too. He remembered that detectives should be kind as well as clever.

“It's okay, Fox Cub,” Detective Wolf said gently. “Next time, you should ask. Grandma made enough for everyone.”

Fox Cub nodded. “I'm sorry. Can I help fix the mistake?”

Detective Wolf's tail wagged. “That's a great idea! Let's tell Grandma together.”

Chapter 4: A Sweet Ending—and a Sweet Joke

Back in the kitchen, Fox Cub bravely told Grandma what happened. Grandma Wolf gave him a big, gentle hug. “Thank you for telling the truth, Fox Cub. And thank you, Detective Wolf, for solving the mystery with kindness.”

Fox Cub helped Grandma make another batch of muffins. They all laughed as Fox Cub got flour on his nose and Little Wolf got blueberries on his ears.

Later, they sat together at the picnic table in the garden. The plate was full of warm, fresh muffins. Squirrel, Bunny, Fox Cub, and Little Wolf shared them happily.

Detective Wolf felt proud. He had solved the mystery—and made sure everyone felt better.

Grandma Wolf smiled. “Detective Wolf, you're the best detective in the forest!”

Little Wolf grinned. “Thank you, Grandma. But I had a lot of help from my friends. And now I have a joke!” He looked around at everyone, his eyes twinkling.

“What do you call a wolf who loves to solve muffin mysteries?”

Everyone shook their heads.

Little Wolf giggled. “A ‘whodonut'!”

The friends burst into laughter. Even Grandma Wolf chuckled. The sun shone, the muffins tasted extra sweet, and Little Wolf knew that every day could be an adventure—with a little kindness, curiosity, and a sprinkle of fun.
