Three girls, about 8: a brown‑haired girl in braids in a yellow polka‑dot dress stands center in front of a large sunflower, smiling and holding a small green watering can in her right hand; a short‑blonde girl in a blue smock crouches left of her, touching soil with a small orange trowel, focused; a black‑haired ponytailed girl in a pink T‑shirt stands right, hopping and pointing at an orange butterfly on a leaf. Setting: a spring home garden with a light wood fence, tall sunflowers, pink tulips and yellow daffodils, textured green grass, a small stone path and pale blue sky with fluffy clouds. Scene: the girls tend the garden in sunlight, planting and watering giant sunflowers, colorful butterflies fluttering, joyful bright colors and simple shapes, soft shadows in a cut‑paper style. report a problem with this image

Chapter One: The Bright Spring Day

The sun peeked through the fluffy white clouds. It was a bright spring day. Sarah, Mia, and Lily were very excited. "Today is the day!" Sarah said, jumping up and down.

"What day?" asked Mia, tilting her head.

"It's the day we help our families in the garden!" Sarah replied with a big smile.

Lily clapped her hands. "I love gardening! We can plant flowers and see the butterflies!"

The girls ran to Sarah's house. "Let's see what we have in the garden!" Mia said.

They opened the big wooden gate. The garden was full of colors. There were green leaves, yellow daffodils, and pink tulips.

"Look at the flowers!" Lily exclaimed. "They are so pretty!"

"Yes! But we need to take care of them," Sarah said. "We need to water them and pull out the weeds."

"Weeds?" Mia asked, looking confused.

"Yes! Weeds are the plants that grow where we don't want them," Sarah explained. "They take water and nutrients from the flowers."

"Oh! I see!" Mia said. "Let's pull them out!"

The girls got down on their knees. They pulled and pulled. "This is fun!" Lily laughed.

"Look at this one!" Sarah said, holding up a big weed. "It's so tall!"

"We did it!" Mia cheered as they finished pulling out all the weeds.

"Now we can plant new flowers!" Sarah said, hopping with joy.

Chapter Two: Planting Time

The girls went to the shed. "What flowers should we plant?" asked Mia.

"How about sunflowers?" suggested Lily. "They are big and happy!"

"Yes! Let's plant sunflowers!" Sarah agreed.

They found a packet of sunflower seeds. "These seeds will grow into tall flowers," Sarah explained. "But first, we need to dig holes."

The girls took small shovels. They dug little holes in the soil. "This is hard work!" Mia said, puffing her cheeks.

"But it's fun!" Lily said, laughing. "We are like little gardeners!"

Once they dug enough holes, they placed the seeds inside. "One, two, three!" counted Sarah as they dropped the seeds in.

"Now we cover them up," said Mia. They carefully covered the seeds with dirt.

"Don't forget to water them!" Lily reminded.

They took a watering can and splashed water on the soil. "There! They are happy now!" Sarah smiled.

"Can we come back tomorrow to check?" Mia asked.

"Of course!" Lily said. "I want to see them grow!"

Chapter Three: The School Project

The next day, the girls went to school. Their teacher, Miss Green, had a special project. "Today, we will learn about spring!" she said, clapping her hands.

"Yay!" the class cheered.

Miss Green showed them pictures of flowers and trees. "What do you see in spring?" she asked.

"Flowers!" shouted Mia.

"Butterflies!" said Sarah.

"Birds!" Lily added, waving her arms.

"Very good!" Miss Green smiled. "In spring, everything comes back to life. It's warm, and the days are longer."

The girls listened carefully. "Can we do a garden project?" Mia asked.

"Yes! You can work in pairs to create a small garden in our classroom!" Miss Green replied.

Sarah and Lily teamed up, while Mia teamed up with another friend, Emma. They gathered soil, pots, and seeds.

"What should we plant?" Lily asked, looking at the seeds.

"Let's plant daisies!" Sarah said. "They are so pretty!"

They filled the pots with soil and planted the seeds. "Now we water them," Lily said, pouring water gently.

"Can we decorate our pots?" Sarah asked.

"Yes! Let's paint them!" Lily said with excitement.

The girls painted their pots with bright colors. "Mine is pink!" Sarah said.

"And mine is blue!" Lily replied.

The classroom was filled with laughter and colors.

Chapter Four: Spring Surprises

A week later, the girls visited their garden at home. "Let's see our sunflowers!" Mia said, running ahead.

They gasped. "Look! They are growing!" Sarah shouted.

"Wow! They are so tall!" Lily said, pointing.

The sunflowers had grown big and bright. Butterflies danced around them.

"Let's take pictures!" Mia said, pulling out her little camera.

The girls posed with their sunflowers, smiling wide. "This is the best spring ever!" Sarah said.

At school, their pots had started to sprout too. "Look! Our daisies are growing!" Emma squealed.

"Yay!" the girls cheered.

Miss Green was very proud. "You all did a wonderful job!" she said. "Spring is a time for new life, and you have made it beautiful."

The girls felt happy. They learned about caring for plants and how to work together.

"Let's always take care of nature," Lily said.

"Yes! Nature is our friend!" Sarah added.

Mia smiled and said, "And we can have fun while doing it!"

The girls agreed. Spring was not just a season; it was a time for friendship, learning, and growing together.

As the sun set, the sky painted in shades of pink and orange, the girls knew that spring would always be special to them. They couldn't wait for more flowers, butterflies, and sunny days ahead.
