One day, Sam the astronaut was getting ready. "I like space," said Sam. "I like stars and the moon."
Sam put on his big, white suit. "This is my space suit," said Sam. "It helps me float."
Sam met a little boy named Ben. "Hello, Ben," said Sam. "Do you like space?"
Ben nodded. "Yes, Sam. I like stars. I like the moon."
Sam smiled. "I go to space," he said. "I see stars. I see the moon."
Ben's eyes were wide. "Wow," said Ben. "Tell me more, Sam."
Sam nodded. "In space, I float. I see the Earth. It is big and blue."
Ben clapped his hands. "That sounds fun, Sam."
Sam said, "I have a job. I fix things. I learn new things. I look at stars."
Ben giggled. "I like stars, Sam."
Sam said, "Stars are far. Stars are bright. I use my tools to see them."
Ben asked, "Do you fly, Sam?"
Sam nodded. "Yes, I fly. I fly in a rocket. It goes whoosh!"
Ben laughed. "I want to fly, Sam."
Sam said, "One day, you can fly too. You can be an astronaut like me."
Ben smiled big. "I will see stars. I will see the moon."
Sam nodded. "Yes, Ben. We will see stars. We will see the moon."
Ben said, "I like space, Sam."
Sam said, "Space is big. Space is fun. Space is for everyone."
Ben hugged Sam. "Thank you, Sam."
Sam hugged Ben back. "Keep dreaming, Ben. Dream big. See stars. Be happy."
And with a wave, Sam the astronaut floated away, leaving Ben dreaming of stars and the moon.
